TEA day 3

BELL 97
PIETERSON 9

WI 229

EG 3/228
COOK 89*
COLLINGWOOD 3*
PIETERSON 68

KP SCORES IN THE SERIES
26
106
226
9
68

435 RUNS
AVERAGE 87-0

Good effort by the West Indians to whittle down that average !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the discription of KP dismissal

BRAVO to KP , hit wicket, what an unusual dismissal
A sharp bouncer took KP by total surprise-but not a quick ball-
knocking his helmet off which then fell on his stumps.
KP didnt connect with the sticks themselves, but as the bails were
dislodged by the lid he's gone ! :o  :o  :o
__________________________________________________________________

The drama continued in BRAVOs next over
On his 5th ball he damaged his ankle and could not finish the over off
He left the field
THE UMPIRE CALLED OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for KP another bizzare dismissal Hit Wicket this time.

EG will win this and go 2-0 up with a test to go
My 3-0 prediction looking good.

Stumps Day 4
W.Indies 5/301 (Chanderpaul 81* Ramdin 26*)
W.Indies need another 154 to win and level the series, Poms need 5 wkts to win the series.
Odds... Poms $1.20
......W.Indies $4.25
...........Draw $34.00

Prediction - As much as it would be Great to see the Windies win, they have the WORST tail end batsmen in the world that will struggle to produce 20 runs between them, leaving Shiv and Ramdin to make the majority between them. Chanderpaul is a World Class Batsman, underestimated by most Bcos of his strange stance and is capable of Staying there all day but the rest of the top order are Battlers that show promise but arn't capable of making the big scores needed at test level, consistently getting starts and getting out in the 40 - 70 range. Tip - England by 93 runs. (W.I. Easy if K.P. Continues to Bowl. Currently 5 overs 0/17)

England are a MONTY to win
The gifted bearded left hand bowler, arguably the worlds best test match spin bowler
will spin the Pommies to victory.

Day 5 Lunch

W.I. 7/379 (Chanderpaul 104*, Taylor 10*, Panesar 5/126 (49 overs).
W.I. Need Another 76 runs to Win Which Will be a World Record Run Chase if Achieved.

England are Still in the Box Seat but are being Made to Work VERY Hard for Victory which Should still be achieved but crickets a Funny Game and U just Never Know.
For the Windies,Chanderpaul Needs to take charge as he has only scored 23 of the 78 runs scored today But at the Same time England have made it Hard for him by setting Defensive Fields whilst Attacking the other End which Hasn't worked that well as Ramdin, Sammy and Taylor have been able to pick up Runs a lot easier and have taken Advantage of the Attacking field placements to score freely.
Test Cricket at its Best and Hopefully should be a Compelling Next Few Hours.

EG 370
WI 229
EG 313
WI 394

Brave effort by WI
Chanderpaul 116*
England win by 60 runs [KP made 9+68 valueble innings in the end !!!!}

Worlds best spinner MONTY 51.5 overs 6/137
What a difference a spinner makes for England
If Giles played they might have lost

Vaughan is the most prolific winning Pommy skipper in history after this test.

England now 2-0 up
need 1 more win for the MAL prediction of 3-0

Vaughan most winning Pommie Test capt, Doesn't say much for the Previous ones over the last 100+ Years, Probably More to do with the Sheer volume of Tests Played these days compared to years gone by though.

Windies Got away with No Spinner for 15 years or so when they Dominated World Cricket but had 3 - 4 World Class Fast bowlers then. They DO NEED to Develop a Quality Test Spinner ASAP Bcos Until they Do, they WILL Continue to Struggle at Test level with 3 - 4 Fast Bowling Toilers and a Part time Offie.
Also Need a Few more Batsmen like Chanderpaul who can Bat for More than 3 Hours.

Yes Monty is a World Class Spinner that would Fit Right into a Pakistan, Indian, Sri Lankan Side the way He appeals for Everything, Drawing the IRE of Aleem Dar at one stage for Not respecting Him. Mind You, He is Not the Only Bowler in World Cricket that Does this.

Dont have the stats Smithy
But as JJ said its the volume of tests he has captained that has
afforded him this record.

They will be a hard team to beat in 2009 v Australia
Cook has made 6 or 7 tons in 20 odd tests
KP is peaking
Monty if he improves will be at his best
Prior the keeper is exploding
Bell, Collingwood are dependable
Strauss,Vaughan will still be capable
Stresscothik ?
World class allrounder Flintoff
Harmison, Hoggard and a developing Plunkett are good players as well
Jones ?

Australia will be minus Warnnnnney and Ooooohahhh hmn.....

Looks likely Vaughans boys will win a few more for him.

No defence
No back foot
Plays dumb shots
Shits himself against short pitched bowling
Imagine if he improves ....
