I don't think I've seen another incident of the sort where a player chases a spectator after being hit; indeed it was a rather sour occurance and probably one you wouldn't wish to see again.

Wonder what the guy involved thinks of his part in it now?

Not Terry Alderman, I mean the other guy...

That really interrupted Alderman's career which had been on a good upward path since his success in England in 1981.

He missed the 1983/84 season and returned in 1984/85 v West Indies. He was never very effective against the Windies so was dropped and then chose to tour South Africa in 85/86 and 86/87 and was banned for 3 seasons. Returned in 1988/89 v West Indies so he barely played for Australia after the Perth incident for the next 6 years as it turned out.

Stupid behaviour by the spectator but maybe not so bright by Alderman either, in hindsight. He should have left the idiot alone he could have been carrying a knife or worse. An ugly incident all round.

Ah yeah, I saw that on there. It's in the book Cricket's Hall of Shame. Apparently the guy had a megaphone and was calling Inzy a Fat Potato or something like that. Although I don't think he ran onto the ground (the spectator), but it's another occurance of a player taking matters into his own hands (or bat). ;)
