Copped a good one today but still, he's not good enough to keep Matty Hayden out of the side.

Have to agree with you boys, He is bit of a hack. I suggest they start looking for someone that has the ability to open the batting at one day level.

Have responded to you before on this topic as well Dutchy.
Know he was rated extremely highly by Steve Waugh during his last year in the test team.
I can't explain it either though as there is his NSW teamate Jacques tearing it up in ING at the moment as well as many other options including Haddin (think you can play him and Gilchrist in the same side), Hayden, Birt, Cosgrove and possibly Ryan Campbell still as well.

You can cross off Ryan Campbell, seeing as he has now retired. Certainly Jaques will get a shot during this VB series, as it would be the perfect time to give him a crack.

I dont think Katich is a hack, mind you I do think the selectors may have things the wrong way around.I think Katich should be in the Test team at the expense of Hodge, who should play in the one-dayers.I will dig out some numbers to support my theory.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

I agree that Katich should not be in ahead of Hayden but you don't seriously beleive the injury is a fake out do you?? Are you guys chanelling Cornsey or something? As for Jacques, he deserves his shot and of course it is only natural that selectors based in Victoria and Queensland would want to include New South Welshmen based purley on their state  . And cripes haven't our results been carp, last two world cups, number one in both forms of the game....

Whilst I agree in sorts REB, you can't tell me that NSW have the best 4 one day bowlers in australia at the moment.
Clark is OK at best and Bracken's 1 day stats in the ING hardly warranted a spot - 3 games 5 wickets 4 in the 1 game let alone his proven inability at test level yet he still gets chosen in the squad.
Mitchell Johnson from QLD is averaging 45.71 - 7 matches 7 wickets, why was he chosen recently???????
Manou is the best glover in the country by far and has scored 50 runs less than hartley over 6 games yet the QLD'er gets an AUS A tour to india. Hartley wouldn't of got that opportunity had he not been in QLD me thinks.

You could probably name quite a few other QLD & NSW duds that shouldn't have been chosen since Hohns and Border was chairman of selectors as well.
Favouritism???? naaaaaah, couldn't exist

Hauritz - Robertson anyone ??

What i would like to know is when is South Australias own "Fatty Bomba Cosgrove" going to get a gernsy in the Aussie line up???

He's more than capable of scoring runs. He could score as many if not more runs as Katich!!!

Well why didnt they just say they dropped him? not cop out with an injury

I still say if Katich wasnt in the Ashes team we would have won - one test he made 59 we we got bowled out for 150 - we were crying out for a Gilly like ton to save the team did he do it - nup - came up empty as usual, tell me when he hasnt been a Darren Smith like passenger in this team and Ill go catch a "carp"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jacques Deserves his chance, the 2nd innings of the test he played he was starting to look good. You must remember that Hussey made 1 in his first dig then 26 i think in the second. Now its hard to think of a test side without him.

Big Cosi needs to be scoring more runs, what????? more runs?????, thats right you can never score enough runs, just ask boof :)

Anyway perhaps cosi for a gid maybe in the one day team later in there series.

I don't know..perhaps he's injured maybe??? Not everything in cricket is a conspiracy designed to keep SA players out of the international arena.

I still say if Katich wasnt in the Ashes team we would have won - one test he made 59 we we got bowled out for 150 - we were crying out for a Gilly like ton to save the team did he do it - nup - came up empty as usual, tell me when he hasnt been a Darren Smith like passenger in this team and Ill go catch a "carp"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hang on, we got bowled out for 150 and it is the guy who made 59 who is at fault?? I know it's part of the culture but what are you smoking. :weedman: . I am not a big wrap for Kat but the NSW bias carp that comes from some supporters of the Redbacks is absolute shite. Kat is a nicker plain and simple but his average isn't too bad so he can't have been a passenger 24/7 so off you go to 'Got one' and buy yourself a Rod Dutchy! Perhaps it is Gilly who should have come up with that Gilly like innings, you could have blamed him and still included the NSW bias theory! Hang on....another bloody New South Welshman when will it end?? When you win the shield more than once a decade, that's when.

Dear Double Dutch. Stop listening to KG and Cornsey.
