locky801 wrote:Q12. How long would an astronaut's footprints last for on the moon?
A) Longer than a month B) A day C) Less than an hour D) A week

Very interesting question, perhaps an E answer of no known time should have been added, have checked google and related sites and answers vary from a day to 100 years

I will take a punt and say D (a week)

INCORRECT

INCORRECT

Failing a nearby meteorite impact to disturb the dust, in the absence of an atmosphere I would have expected the footprint to stay almost indefinitely, given that I wouldn't expect solar radiation to have much effect. I have no idea of the conventionally approved answer, if there is a generally held one, but I would be intersted to hear the science based argument of any answer given. :D

Edit: typo fix.

They were supposed to be the answer to inner city traffic congestion  IIRC they were found to be unstable and as you can see offer no protection from other traffic...labelled a death-trap in the press they never caught on. The picture is Sir Clive Sinclair himself...guess a guy who made his money in computers or calculators or something needs a hobby
