Q.38 - One: "Whatever Gets You Through The Night" (which triggered him to do a duet with Elton John, who had bet Lennon this would go to no.1. Lennon was so confident it wouldn't, he agreed to do a duet in concert with John if it did)

Dunno about the B side of Stairway to Heaven, but they certainly did release singles. I have a copy of Trampled Under Foot on the swansong lable. I am sure they never released a single in the UK though.

They released tracks that were on albums in a single play format but they never released a "single" per say. In other words they didn't release a track as a prelude to an album.
Also these were released around the world ('Whole Lotta Love" went top 10 in Adelaide) but never in the UK.

I don't see what distinction you are trying to make here LL. Whilst I am sure there are singles out there that have never been on an album, the majority of singles released are a track selected from an album, and follow up singles, more often than not, are released after the album. Was just listening to Fleetwood Mac's Rumours Album, and thought it was a pretty good example.
Based on your argument, only songs released prior to an album release count as singles ??

I have a complaint....
I (and Im sure this may apply to others as well) only access internet during business hours, meaning that when these quizzes are released on a Saturday, theyre already finished by the time we get to work on Monday..

meaning that I can not participate.....
A suggestion to keep ALL the troops happy??? More quizzes but at different intervals during the week....
