Fair call on the casualty count. I was desperately trying to think back to fourth year history. I gather I am in the "Ball Park" . Curious what the answer to #1 and #17 you have are.

One small criticism with this fantastic quiz, Magpie, ANZAC is all capitals, not Anzac.

And don't worry, I have let our friends at News Limited know all about it as well.

I apologise as i was unaware there was a correct way of writing it maxoz.
but in the following opening paragraph and throughout the rest of the text it appears as:

Australian war historian C.E.W. Bean attributes the acronym ANZAC to a Lieutenant A.T. White, one of General Birdwood’s ‘English clerks’. The first official sanction for its use was at Birdwood’s request to denote where the Corps had established a bridgehead on the Gallipoli Peninsula. However, there is little argument that ANZAC was first used as a simple code in Egypt.

and further investigating just then shows this:

ANZAC (Protected by Law)

Permission to use this name for official or commercial purposes is vested in the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs.

'ANZAC' should always be written in upper case.

this appears on the website that i compiled part of the quiz.

there was a story on this sub on the ABC tonite, quite interesting, they are considering raising it but it would be a huge job
also the next show had a couple of short interviews with Gerry from At the toss of a coin, some German memorabilia found its way to his store, again quite interesting
