Q1. Five patients, all potential blood donors, are waiting in the doctor's surgery and are sitting on the bench from left to right. Can you determine the position of each patient along with their blood group, age, height and weight? Their ages are 5, 9, 30, 46 and 60. Their heights are 40, 48, 60, 65 and 74. Their weights are 40, 75, 96, 125 and 165.

The person on the far right is 37 years older than Jason, and is 60 inches tall.
Jason weighs 56 pounds more than his height.
Alan weighs 75 pounds and is 74 inches tall.
John is type AB and weighs 56 pounds less than Jason.
The person in the centre is 9 years old, is blood type AO and weighs 96 pounds.
Adam, who is the first, is 65 inches tall, and weighs 100 pounds more than his height.
The person who is blood type O, is 25 years older than the person to the left of them.
Kevin is 60 years old.
The person who is blood type A, is 55 years younger than Kevin and is not next to the person who is type AO.
The person who is next to the 9 year old but not next to the person who is 65 inches tall, is blood type B, and weighs 125 pounds.

Q2. During the recent BrainBashers school sports day, four girls were competing in the 400 metres hurdles. Official figures mysteriously went missing just after the event, however, various spectators could remember the following information. Josie was never suspected though!

1. Jane won and wore red.
2. The girl wearing number 1 came third.
3. Julie beat the girl in yellow, but wasn't wearing number 2.
4. Only one girl finished in the same position as the number she wore, but she didn't wear red.
5. Jackie beat the girl wearing number 3 and Josie wore yellow.
6. The girl in green wore number 2.
7. A spectator remembered one girl wore blue, but couldn't remember anything else about her.

Can you determine the positions the girls finished in, along with the numbers and colours they wore?
1 - JANE - 4 - RED
2 - JACKIE - 2 - GREEN
3 - JULIE - 1 - BLUE
4 - JOSIE - 3 - YELLOW


Q3. At the recent BrainBashers Mixed National Hurdle trials, ten contestants competed for the coveted BB Shield. There were numerous judges who made sure that the results were accurate, from their notes can you determine who finished where?

Ivor Bignose finished before May Eye and Mick Stup whilst Leigh Vamessage was victorious over May Eye and Laura DeLand. Jack Pott was beaten by Jerry Atric, Mick Stup and Al Beback. Laura DeLand was beaten by Mick Stup, May Eye and Ivor Bignose, whereas Joe King beat Jerry Atric and Jack Pott but lost to Laura DeLand and Inga Hootz. Leigh Vamessage was beaten by Ivor Bignose and Inga Hootz. Inga Hootz was beaten by Al Beback, who, in turn, lost to Ivor Bignose, but beat Jerry Atric and Jack Pott. May Eye finished ahead of Mick Stup and Jerry Atric, who lost to Leigh Vamessage and Inga Hootz.

Grumpy was in front of Dopey. Stumpy was behind Sneezy and Doc. Doc was in front of Droopy and Happy. Sleepy was behind Stumpy, Smelly and Happy. Happy was in front of Sleepy, Smelly and Bashful. Bashful was behind Smelly, Droopy and Sleepy. Sneezy was in front of Dopey. Smelly was in front of Grumpy, Stumpy and Sneezy. Dopey was in front of Droopy. Sleepy was in front of Grumpy and Bashful. Dopey was behind Sneezy, Doc and Sleepy. Stumpy was in front of Dopey. Smelly was behind Doc.

Q5. The four people in this puzzle all competed in different classes of dog agility at a recent competition. The competitions all required the dogs to run over jumps, through tunnels and various other obstacles in as quicker time as possible. Each had a different result - one came first, one third, one fourth and one ninth. All four dogs were each of a different breed.

Can you work out who handled which dog, at what level each competed, the place each finished in and the breed of each dog?

1. If Tiff finished first then Terry finished fourth.
2. If Terry finished fourth then Jago is a collie otherwise Jago is not a collie.
3. If Jane competed in the Senior class then she finished third.
4. If Jane competed in Novice then she finished fourth.
5. The dog that finished ninth was an alsatian. This was either Jago, in which case Jago competed in the Elementary class, or this was Kelly, in which case Terry handled Kelly.
6. Mark won Starters.
7. If Mark's dog is called Patti then Patti is a labrador otherwise Patti is a collie.
8. Ruth's dog is called Jago.
9. If Jago finished fourth then she competed in the Novice class otherwise she competed in the Senior class.
10. If Patti finished first then Terry's dog is an alsatian otherwise Terry's dog is a collie.
11. If Jane's dog is a doberman then Jane finished fourth otherwise Jane finished third.
