Postby Dissident » Thu Feb 15, 2007 9:53 am

Ok, my attempt at a quiz.... about Adelaide (and SA?)

And no googling!!

1. How was the name Glynburn road derived?
2. Name the only two suburbs of Adelaide with four letters in their names
3. To what name was the Hahndorf changed during World War I?
4. How many sets of traffic lights are there on West Terrace?
5. Name the six squares of the city and North Adelaide
6. The Tea Tree Gully council area was originally called what?
7. Does Colonel William Light point with his left hand, or right hand?
8. A famous icon in SA, "Villis" - what country did Villi himself migrate from?
9. Name two metropolitan suburbs that start with V
10. All main East/West streets in the city centre begin at King William Street. Why is this?
11. What is the South Australian state gemstone?
12. There are at least 7 "arcades" close to Rundle Mall, between Grenfell St and North Terrace. Name 5 of them.
13. Frewville, Heathpool, Tonsley Park, Direk & Greenfields. Which one is not a suburb of Adelaide?
14. CHASTENED LOGROLLING, ENTANGLED SCHOOLGIRL, DANGLING CHOLESTEROL - What suburb is an anagram of all these? (note, there's ONE answer, not THREE)

No cheating!
