Beijing to complete the hat trick?

Postby Mr66 » Sat Jul 12, 2008 7:03 pm

Berlin 1936, Nazis done, less than a decade later.
Moscow 1980, Berlin Wall & Iron Curtain fall in the same time span.
Beijing 2008. Will the barbarians that rule China be gone in 2017?
Lets hope so.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

All jokes aside, if you have ever seen Jesse Owens defying Hitler in Berlin in 1936 with his gold medal performances, it's pretty incredible to watch, consider and reflect upon. The Olympic ideal, huh?

Some great footage that. Amazing to think it really was not all that long ago. I'd like to think we've come a long way since then but unfortunately such prejudice and ignorance still plagues society to this day.

You need only read a few of the comments about that video to realise what sad and pathetic people still exist today. Such incredibly ignorant and stupid people. I actually feel sorry for them.

What an amazing athlete Jesse Owens was. To do what he did under those circumstances makes it even more remarkable.
