what a classic game of Basketball, sensational, apart from Kobe all the US blokes are quite genuine lads and good on them but Spain played magnificently, dare say some of their managers will be getting phone calls today!

Can anyone explain to me why Nathan Jawai wasn't in the squad for the olympics?

If he was injured or something fair enough but he had to be in there ahead of someone like Shawn Redhage.

NBA Draft may keep Jawai from Boomers

Australian NBA Draft prospect Nathan Jawai is unlikely to play for the Boomers at the Beijing Games.

Jawai's trials for tomorrow's NBA Draft have clashed with the national team's Olympic preparations.

Boomers coach Brian Goorjian says while he supports Jawai's NBA aspirations, his time in the United States has jeopardised his chance to play at the Olympics.

"It doesn't work right now with the national team for this Olympics but ... he's got a bright future with us for this program," he said.

"Once he's on a team I think the process of playing in the NBA and being a part of this for Nathan will be easier."

When my mate worked at the Sydney Games, he stumbled across a whole bunch of stuff Nike were binning.

Some of the basketball team kit was among the goodies.

Looked more than a little ridiculous when he rocked back to campus after the break in Luc Longley's gear...

Kobe is into some serious carbo loading for these games, he's been eating Rice all week...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Boomers beat China 81-61

After all the negativity, 1-2 after three games is as expected. The Boomers are only ranked 9 in the world, I think any talk of a medal is overly optermistic
