1st aussie MALE gold medalist in the olympics since Dick Eve won the now deleted high platform in 1924

Richmond Cavill "Dick" Eve (March 19, 1901 – March 13, 1969) was an Australian diver who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics.

In 1924 he won the gold medal in the plain high diving competition.

More than 2 gave him 10. Think all but 2 did. He got 9.5 from those 2 i think.

Everyone who watched that dive whether expert or someone who knows nothing about the sport knew they had seen an amazing dive. It just looked great (from someone who knows little about it), and to do it under so much pressure really is something a persons eyes see but not quite comprehend. Take nothing away from a similar pressure cooker win from Hooker in the pole-vault, but that has to be our best performance to win the gold medal of the games.

They've just rerun it and our commentators were clearly blown away by that dive...reckoned you will probably never see better.

Searching for a football analogy. Malcom Blight's 80m torp against carlton to win @ princess park in th 80's is the only thing I can think of. If that kick was a GF it would be close. Has any diver scored a 112 in this Olympics? This guy had a pig of a first dive and I thought he was gone. Lets hope jan stirling plays this clip to the opals at half time.

I believe he is the first diver to get 112. Imagine the score if he got 10s across the board.
