Fantastic start by the Boomers in the 2nd half, got the margin back to 5.
Unfortunately more terrible turnovers and the margin back to 14

Last quarter was showtime!

Still, a pretty good tournament.

Some size in the front court would be nice...

Batum doesn't like floppers.

Image

After the game, Batum told reporters: "I wanted to give him a good reason to flop."

Strong start by Spain early on in the Gold Medal match, but the US then went bang* and established a significant early lead.
US shooting at 70% for 3 pointers.
Spain started with zone defence, but have changed to man on man.

Qtr time

US 35
Spain 27

Foul city that quarter.
Good fightback by Spain though.
Can they win? Still seems unlikely even though they are only 1 point down at half time.
Spain need to improve their defensive rebounding.
Want to stay up and watch, but work today :(

I wonder how the mother of the Gasols is fairing ... pumping out two 7 footers?

Anyway, USA up 97-91 with 3:20 left in the match.

USA win 107-100

Why is their coach celebrating? Humphrey B Bear could have coached this team.
