USA were leading 32-17, and Lauren Jackson hasn't touched the ball yet, except to inbound after the USA have scored. Can't see what all the fuss is about, she looks an ordinary player to me.

We are playing dumb panicked ball. Send jackson down low and let her work. She has spent too mauch time setting screens for players that only receive the ball at the 3 point line with not much they can do. Last play perfect example. They could be alot closer but against the USA this one is gone. I fear they have Psyched themselves out of this one.

That's the killer.

Plenty of times the Opals have missed, the ball's gone to the other end and the US converts.
They've had a shocker, but the US girls are very, very good.

well done opals on a good tournament. Need to have a review on how we approach these games. Any way I barrack for sturt so 14.26 rings a bell. Bad kicking is bad football and no point working an open shot just to leave it on the rim.

Are we going to be anwhere in 2012. Hope the girls can butter up again. Sooner or later!!!!!

Great Britian really making the Aussies work at the moment, with only the shooting of Jackson and the inability at the moment of GB to score, keeping them ahead.
A situation happening that you wouldn't see too often where the Opals had a shot clock violation because they were completely unaware how much time they had left.

Scrappy would be the best description of the first quarter Opals vs France. there have been at least four air balls, with both teams shooting under 25%

Very ordinary display so far and I have to say I'm not impressed with the coaching. Jackson, Batkovic, Bishop and Cambage would be perhaps the most fearsome frontline we've seen and yet Jackson has hardly been involved in the offensive sets. The best player in the world is acting as a decoy! Not to mention a display of feeding the inside that belongs in under 15 social competition, not the biggest international competition. How many times has the pass been thrown out of bounds, or the defender has gotten a hand on the ball? Sealing, making sure of passes and boxing out (offensive rebounds against that array of bigs?) are basics and we've been atrocious at them thus far. Thankfully our talent is so great we're still a big chance. Fingers crossed we get out of this and it's a wake up call for the girls.
