I had a quick look between other things I wanted to see last night. I got the impression the SBS broadcast was better - more focussed on the sport and less on hype.

just heard that C7 has done a deal with foxsports to take sunday's AFL game off their hands so they concentrate on showing the olympics

I was getting bloody annoyed last night with C7. Matt White threw to an ad break, but before they even got to the ad break, we had to sit through a 2 minute promo for some stupid "Yum Cha" Olympic chat show. Then when they came back from what seemed like a 5 minute ad break they showed 2 minutes of super slo-mo (not Michael Phelps' mo!), and then showed a full replay of Leisel Jones' gold medal swim followed by the medal ceremony and an interview (all of which C7 had shown about 2 hours earlier), and then threw to another ad break. It was about a 15 minute gap between seeing any action that had occured within the last 2 hours, which was extremely poor when the equestrians were jumping for gold, Lleyton Hewitt was playing Rafa and the softball was locked at 3-3 to name only 3 other sports with Aussies in live action. I was really pi$$ed off.

The most spoken phrase during the Channel 7 coverage

"And we'll be back after a short break"

Might be the most used phrase but it is also a blatant lie! I'm yet to see anything on C7 that resembles a short break.

C7's coverage is pathetic!

LMAO, i couldn't believe the coverage could get any worse than it was already but with 2 minutes to go in the Water Polo and Australia only one goal down having made a great comeback, Channel 7 go to the News  Just a dumb dumb bunch of people running the show at that place. Seriously Channel 7 is an absolute embarrassment. I feel sorry for them they are that pathetic.

And then we come back from the news to watch a delayed telecast of the last 30 seconds of the first of 2 rowing gold medals (I know it was delayed because the medal ceremony immediately followed the race - the competitors were still in the water 5 seconds before the ceremony happened).

SUNDAY NIGHT OLYMPICS COVERAGE -- Can you please tell me why, at 1030pm Central Time, we are watching GYMNASTICS without Aussies when there is a vital Mens Hockey match on involving the Kookaburra's?? The coverage of this Olympics has been so poor in so many ways ----- why are they so ignorant of Aussie teams sports....................who ever is running the show has no idea -- they are an embarrassment to Sports TV..........

Hoo friggin ray They finally show the hockey SEVEN YES SEVEN MINUTES INTO THE SECOND HALF.

be thankful that you do not have a family member competing in the games. My Mum has a friend who has a daughter competing in the Softball. They are forced to follow the matches on the Internet. All I have seen of this sport is the 7th inning vs Japan in which they were no chance of making up the deficit to win
