Haha... Reckon there is still a qualifying process to eliminate burglars off 27+ handicaps MT!

My appologys mate.... I expected some high scores, but by memory the worst I saw was an 80, or thereabouts. Decent golf on that track. Dare say I'd be raising the bat for a ton!

Some chick had a 62. I'd be pushing 150.

Would have thought a 1 under score of 69 was more appropriate!

How have you seen her "performance" DW.... It's a tough gig I think. She can come across as a sad sack. You simply can't control such a large group of people 24/7. The Swimmers, whose competitions had completed, and all the other athletes for that matter, are going to want to let their hair down. That's pretty natural. Rio is clearly a dangerous place. I think she would have been negligent in her duty had she not come out strongly on occasions. The last thing any of us want is a serious injury (or worse) to one of "ours" over there. It was a no win for her. The fun police had to be called in at times. Really though, some of them must be a bit naïve, there are places I won't go late at night in Adelaide.... let alone a place like Rio, when you've had a skinfull.

I think she enjoyed being in front of the camera too much.
I can't ever recall seeing/hearing a CdM in the media as much as her. It started well before the games and continued throughout.

Agreed. Acted like the athletes Mum from the moment she was appointed. Wouldn't surprise me to find out she told them all to pack clean underwear.

Wow. Ok. I agree with DW, that she was very "visible", and more so than any other CdM I can recall. Still say it's a tough gig, and you are on a hiding to nothing.

Be interesting to hear the AOC wash-up, and if she keeps the gig for Tokyo.

For example, I didn't think she needed to do press conferences regarding the accommodation debacle.
All she needed to do was manage the situation and offer a "no comment" and sort it out with the organisers.
Some of the pressers she did regarding athletes and their success could have been delegated to others.
It wouldn't have been an easy task looking after all of those athletes, particularly in a place as exciting as Rio, but I think when she actually had something serious to say, the seriousness of that message was diluted - "here's comes, Mum, again".

Good example on the accommodation. I read that as the "squeaky wheel".... She sure back pedalled fast (faster than a few cyclists!) the following day. Heater made a point early on re the Kyrigos selection. No need to come out and make a statement, just don't pick him. I kind of get his point, but I reckon she was putting the entire team on notice there.

Still rather talk about athletes than the CdM. Good chat though lads.
