Didn’t Sydney cost $6bn all those years ago and these clowns think they can spend $5bn for something that won’t be started for 5 years or so?

Being in projects, I love these estimates. We both know that 5bill is a guestimate. It'll blow out and cost more plus extend over due delivery date. They'd be lucky to get away with 10bill.

As far as the benefits are concerned, I still don't understand how they measure them. Unless it improves between now and then I feel that they are a guestimate as well.

Whilst I agree it will blow out 84% of the infrastructure is there already and a lot of the rest such as roads and transport had been budgeted for no matter if they got the Olympics or not.
Anyway, I don't care, I loved the Sydney Olympics and hope I'll still be alive in 2032 to experience another games in Australia.

If the predictions about rising water levels due to global warming are right this Olympic Games may be totally devoted to water sports!

Could be up to booster shot number 38 by the time this starts.
