so is league football around the world .

Only a summer sport here because it would clash with the AFL and mugby here.\

The world cup is normally played in europeans "summer months" ( if you would call them having a summer lol ) so it does not clash with the league seasons in most countries around the world

So a country the size of Cornwall who doesn't have any stadiums, doesn't have a league, doesn't even play football and has a summer temperature in excess of 45 degrees , but does have very deep pockets , has won the bidding to host the World Cup. And there is no corruption .

England, by the way, are leading the charge to boycott the next World Cup unless the reports are made public and the bidding process is completely overhauled. So far Germany has come out in support as has France.

England not being there might not worry too many, particularly the likes of Blatter and Platini, who both have a particular dislike for England, but if a footballing powerhouse like Germany were boycott it along with a few others then the ramifications for FIFA and the World Cup would be disastrous.

Also coincides with European and Asian winter so we can align for things like the Asian champions league, transfer windows, etc etc.

Soccer in Australia had a lot going for it at the moment imo.

I think every country can claim to have a National Team Benny, including PNG. But could you ever see PNG hosting a World Cup? Unless the struck oil sometime soon.

Doesnt line up with the Asian leagues though, most of them are finished or due to finish in the next month. The Asian Champions League is designed to start just before the Asian season starts but its near the end of our season which is why the other Asian sides whinge about us
