Craig Foster is a massive dickhead... one of the best parts in the Australia Netherlands game was when his microphone sh@t itself... I'm praying it happens again

Leckie is getting bathed by jordi alba, taggart hasn't touched it (I don't rate him) but that's mainly because we break down moving forward and can't hold possession. McGowan is trying but is out if position and out of depth,

David villa causing havoc on the left and it looks like there will be a few more goals in the second, let's hope we can peg one back just to show that we might be ok once Sir Timmy hangs the boots up...

Not sure what game I'm watching clearing not the same as them. Australia missing Cahill like a pie without sauce it just doesn't work. Although the commentators think were on the back of some stupid run.

because we are a one man team and have been for sometime now.

Sorry Carey, unfair call. Spain is an amazing side and had played two shockers, they had two much class to play 3 bad games in a row. (much like in the AFL would you like to be facing Hawthorn coming off two poor performances i would think so.

At the end of the day the Spain side has so much quality and in reality they could put a 3rd-4th string side on the park and player for player they would still have more quality.

The way we performed at this World Cup was better than at 2010 (which imho was a group we should have qualified out of with the talent we had)

This is what i see as the Positives and Negatives from the World Cup

POSITIVES
-Young Side will only get better with experience
- We actually looked to play the game and didnt park the bus for 90mins a game
-Our best is good enough we just need to be able to sustain our best
-Our centre back pairing
-Bozanic
-We had 2-3 players out from our best starting 11 imho (Kruse, Williams, Rogic)

NEGATIVES
-Still to reliant on Cahill
-When we lapse we are mediocre
-To many of our players have massives gaps between their best and worse (both skills and work rate)
-We are playing a style reliant on the wide players, Leckie and Oar are probably our two most inconsistent players

exactly right whufc. look at their three subs they brought on, David Silva, Fabregas and Juan Mata... let alone those still sitting on the pine, Spain are all class.

my expectations at this WC were that we would not score a point and have 10 put past us with none for so to push Holland the way we did was surprising and encouraging and apart from the first 15 minutes V Chile we were very good too.

Decent performances, disappointing results but some of the younger guys got a taste and we should see a decent side develop in the coming years.

we need;
- a keeper to stand up and really command their position, Ryan was solid but could have done better on a couple of instances
- a decent right back, McGowan was played out of position and did a pretty good job and i'm not sure Franjic is that good to start with
- another central midfielder, Bozanic looked super in the minutes he played but he needs a partner, jedinak plays the holding mid really well we need a 3rd CM to complete that triangle (ala Iniesta, Xavi, Alonso type)
- a replacement for Cahill, he is IMO the best Aussie footballer we've produced and will take some filling but if we want to compete with the best we need to develop a good striker to finish the chances we are creating

looking forward i wonder how we would line up, would Rogic play that striking role or is he more of an attacking mid? where does Cruze fit in and who would come out if he played wide right? Leckie or Oar to play on the left?

i dont know, i guess i'd love to see us step up in the football world but i dont think it will ever happen, we dont have a round ball culture in Australia due to the dominance of the other codes so we will just have to come to terms with always being the underdog...

hey, at least we arent England right!

May have already been mentioned but a brother of Ivory Coast star Yaya Toure died of cancer a week ago at the age of 28. Ibrahim Toure was also a professional footballer and he was only 28 years old.

0-0 at the hour mark in the italy V uruguay match and Marchisio gets a straight red... surely Uruguay can find a goal or two against 10 men!!!

And thats how it ended, 1-0 to uruguay and italy are going home! Costa Rica top the group after a scoreless draw with england.

dodgy indeed... fell over his own feet.. Another reason why video review MUST be used in soccer and red cards given to these weak pricks who ruin the game!!

Hhmmmmm... I thought it was a penalty, caught his leg as he was shooting that caused him to kick the back of his leg...

We all see things differently though I guess...
