England & Belgium DEFO 1/4 Finalists being drawn with Group H in Last 16.
Group H is a weak Group, as is Group A.

If Australia get through as 2nd in Group, likely meet Argentina in next round.
Stephen Trigg & Rob Chapman are SA Football Patriots

Tony Popovich has lost his last 3 games in Turkey and the board has resigned. Maybe he will put his hand up for the national job?

wouldn't exactly call that a group of death. Peru finished 5th and only just got by NZ in the qualifier. No chance against France but get a result against Peru and Denmark and we could sneak through. after all were one of the lowest ranked teams in the cup

Don’t get spooked by FIFA rankings, they are a meaningless joke. Peru number 11 just lol. They came 5th in South America and struggled in the playoffs against a crap NZ side. They win a lot of home games due to playing some at altitude and struggle on the road. They will be hopeless in Russian conditions. They are having a laugh with the Danes ranked at 12 also. Pretty much a 1 man team who barely got out of a ordinary European group and then beat Ireland in the playoffs. This is the same FIFA rankings that had Wales in the top 10 and the US in the teens. It’s a farce

The rankings are based on the amount of games played and doesn’t take into consideration things like strength of opposition.
Saudi Arabia for instance finished ahead of us and yet are ranked below us by about 25 spots and Japan are below us by about 15 places despite automatically qualifying. Teams like Wales, Netherlands and others ranked top 20 whilst not even qualifying and Russia ranked in the 60’s because as hosts they didn’t play any qualifiers

We're easily better than Saudi Arabia who will get cleaned up by Uruguay and Russia and in all likelihood Egypt, terrible away from home usually.

Japan on the other hand are clearly better than us ATM.

Unfortunately there just aren't enough international matches to be able to produce accurate rankings.

I don’t rate the Saudi’s and think we are a better team but at the end of the day they finished higher than us at the end of qualifying which is all that matters

Socceroos won't even get close to winning a game let alone finish top 2!

Why do you think Ange quit? He ain't stupid.

Ange quit because of $$$
Long time between now and the WC, a new coach and new tactics and who knows. Peru are a worse team than us and whilst Denmark are better they are know for lapses and being reliant on 1 player.
