While it was against the odds, Iceland have well and truly established their credentials by topping their qualifying group and performing well in all games at Euro 2016. Iceland are just re-inforcing what Leicester City achieved and the age old point that a champion team can beat a team of champions.

Yep, hate it when those peanuts talk soccer as they are clueless.
Iceland has put structures in place to lift their football standing and they have soared up the rankings in the last few years. Finished top of their qualifying group and beat the Dutch home and away and then at the champs finished second and the group without losing a game. They are a vastly improved side

100% agree,

That is a ridiculous comparison.

They also have the quality of Gylfi Sigurdsson who imho is as good if not better than any player in the english squad based on current form.

Most of their starting eleven also play in the top division of european leagues such as Belgium and Russia so they are not mugs either.

The Sigurdsson that scored, I noticed wasn't Gylfi. Was it his brother?

A thoroughly insipid campaign by England. Poorly managed too. Hodgson went into the tournament not having even settled on a starting 11.

England should stick to their traditional strengths and play a 4-4-2 formation based on counter-attacking. They'll be better off for it.

Some balls of steel on these penalty takers ... Poland just missed, Quaresma can win it

EDIT: And he does. Cruel blow for the Poles.

Great save by the Portuguese keeper. Out of the 9 penalty kicks taken, his save was the only time the goalie went the right way. Good leadership by Ronaldo to step up and take the first penalty. Portugal a big chance to make final, just need to get Ronaldo playing in the right position.

If Belgium get through they play Portugal in the semi. Belgium would go in favourites and id be surprised if Portugal beat them

I'd rather take the first penalty. If you're going to miss, it's better to miss early.

New format for Euro has been good, but surely they have to rethink suspending after two yellows. Too many good players missing from semi finals. Maybe wipe the slate clean after group stage or make it 3 yellows?
