At least we still have a chance I guess.
Italy bundled out by North Macedonia in a massive upset. Italy playing at home absolutely battered them and then conceded the only goal in the final minute

Even if we get past UAE or Iraq in the 3rd place play off game, beating the 5th placed South American team, probably Peru, will be very difficult. North Macedonia gives us eternal hope.

The one bonus we have is that it’s a 1 leg playoff in Qatar. A lot of South American teams struggle to travel and acclimatise for 1 game.

Deserved win by Socceroos, but seriously, we should be beating teams like UAE. Peru might be a different proposition.
