Believe a super 14 Carnival Saturday evening at South Adelaide? 3 SFL sides in lead by Cove Marion and Aldinga should be interesting and fast games.... Not sure who else in but should be some great games and interesting to see what sort of side the premiers roll out considering they didn't win a pre season game last yr

Disappointing to hear that the Pt Noarlunga proposal to change the minis from 2/3 4/5 6/7 to under 8/10/12 was voted against at the juniour delegates meeting Mon night.

My question is do the representatives from the clubs that voted for and against this proposal have the info required to make a sound and informative decision. Are they bringing to the table a decision that was clarified and endorsed by their excecutive or are they making decisions based on their own personal interest??

The increase from $4 to $5 for entry to home and away games passed by the Board of Directors will not be passed on by the Noarlunga Football Club.

Also the increase of times 10am to 3pm will also not be passed on we will stick with 11am to 2.30pm.

These decisions where unanimous :)

Personally I think the proposal is a good one, but not until the smaller clubs have built their juniors up.
The problem that the smaller clubs face is what happens to 12 year olds in year 7. If the club doesn't have Sunday under 14s where do those kids play? On Saturday they will have school footy and a lot of parents aren't going to run them from one oval to another to fit in 2 games on the same morning.

Sorry Waterboy I disagree.

Where do 12 year old lads go? They go to under 14 at club footy as the footy club should of developed the kids for this transition.

Many schools still have school football first policies so playing club and not school isn't an option for a number of kids

Our club discussed the matter thoroughly at a committee meeting before the vote shoeboy- as should have all clubs.

Personally I preferred the 2/3, 4/5 and 6/7 age groups solely because I was one kid who was younger than all my mates (I did prep, 1 and 2 in 18 months so I was a year younger than all my class mates) so every second season I played with kids in the grade under me which sucked (apologies to all my team mates in those years). Now days there are a lot of kids who are 12 in year 7, who not being able to play with their classmates could choose not to play U/14s (who could blame a 12 year old not wanting to play 14s, some of those kids are bigger than me!)

As I said, this was only my opinion.

I think its a tough call! Clubs with lots of juniors dont need to worry because as u say they can play sunday. In saying that Morphett Vale and Reynella voted against the change and they have sunday sides.
I also know that some of the junior delegates have voted differently to that of the club committees as i have spoken with several presidents! It is a shambles. To be honest Im not sure what the answer is but something needs to be done. Pretty sure my club voted for the change.

This is only the case with private schools. Public schools can not force anyone to play football there first!

Those 3 or 4 private school kids can make the difference between having a team or not for the smaller clubs.

Even though the public schools can't force the kids to play there first their parents may want to support school footy first.
