That's a bit rough mate ! They won that Flag because they wanted it more than the three sides they beat to get it. In a very wet Finals Series they were the ones who did what it takes.

So basically they must play what they are told and have no choice in the matter. Pretty sure there is countries for this sort of ways. The majority of fellas that make up this c grade side weren't playing b grade for porties last year or the one before that. They formed the side to play together. So now you basically want to split up that group and make them play in grades above? Porties have been great in allowing this side to go ahead, and making these lads happy. As for last year they did well, and lost to morphett vale in a close contest grand final. Hopefully they can go one better this year.

OTW, the c grade competition is not set up for the purpose of "forming your own team". It is there for the guys who cant quite make the B grade, perhaps for the guys who have just come out of under 18's and cant quite crack the seniors yet. Without pressure from these guys below, a side above is never going to succeed, therefore having a flow on effect into the A's. I agree that there comes a time in your career when you lose the competitive edge and may just want to have fun, but you have to draw a line somewhere. Remember, a football club is not about one person but about a whole bigger picture. Dont you want your club to be successful at the highest level? It never will be with that sort of attitude.

We cleared a number of lads to Porties and find amusing you lads have the same issues.
The way the club has turned around and now have strong numbers on the track we will look at playing a C grade next year to accommodate those that miss out or have legit reasons that they cannot commit to Sat footy.

Pretty sure the numbers on the track have more to do with the junior development at the club (Which i must say i admire, has come along way) and recruitment of players. Cancelling the c grade would of generated maybe 5 players extra back into the a/b's.

OTW that post is so far of the mark it isnt funny.

I question how a "C grade" football side can have such a huge affect on a club's culture ??

you have to push to play the highest grade possible and not wallow in a lower grade just to make yourself feel better. Playing with ya mates is a bonus but should not be allowed to happen just to keep these blokes happy. Noarlunga have improved since getting rid of their C grade and now that the mindset has changed hopefully they can bring it back in next year but for the right reasons

So what happens to the blokes who
1. Work Saturdays
2. That do not have the fitness or skills and never have or will to push into a B grade team.
3. At an age where they have played competitive footy for a lot of years and just want a run around to keep active.

Thats all well and good if the points i raised above does not apply, but not everybody is that serious about their footy. I myself played C Grade at Noarlunga for several seasons and was disappointed when it did fold. I Know regardless if i trained all preseason i would not likely get a game in our B Grade now as i know age, general body condition (chalky ankles) and having limited skills (im a lefty and like Peachy cant kick for goals) is not going to cut it against the younger blokes looking to push for the first team. I hope they do get a C Grade up again as i would like to play again but im not that bothered that i am looking to go to another club to get a game like many of the ex c graders have done.

what i mean is that a team might only win 3 games all year then just make the finals their a and b grade are out of the finals so win the flag.

those points you mentioned are what i mean that is what a C grade shound be there for not the blokes who are available to play on saturday but would rather be a hero on a sunday against the real C graders.

As i said, Porties did field a side today, and will prove to be a side to beat once fitness comes about. There will be no folding of the side. Unfortunetly i watched them go down to a quick Valley side today by about 6 goals i believe.

Klompy wasnt too bad. Kicked i think 3 (only guessing) and took some nice 1 on 1 grabs. Reckon he'll be better for the run and seems to be enjoying the new surroundings. Unfortunately the boys went down by nearly 6 goals. Ran out of puff in the last 1/4.

Dont worry NG ive beeen giving him heaps ,yer kicked 3 but miss afew he should have got which youve seen him do b4.He doesnt look fit but reckons he going to start getting out to a few more trainings Ha Ha Ha,as you know he will only get better as the year goes on and as youve seen hes a big game player come finals.M/V looked a differant team this week they must have had a few go up to the bs,klompy said they had no bench after half time so wasnt that bad of a loss if you can take a possitive out of a loss, also thought he said they lost by 3 to 4 goals?but could be wrong,it was a close game with Vales in front most of the day untill late in 3rd and last qrt when M/V ran out of players and legs.

I remember the game where Lonsdale beat Flaggies... Terrible weather. Good result though! Getting over the line in the GF was even better. They had the Flag shirts already printed out!

went to watch a replay of last years c grade gf today and i was very impressed with a really strong M/V outfit think they won by 39 goals.Klompy finally showed his new club just what he can do and why hes a saafl goal kicking legand, bagged a lazy 18 and looked like the klompy i no,not training so as we have said it was only a matter of time before he got some fittness up and started to show his worth. The big ruckman also cut them to piece with proberly 50 plus hitouts

Porties struggling for numbers by the looks of things, could only scrounge up 14 players for the grand final rematch. Yep Klompy sure had the kicking boots on and dobbed a lazy 18 goals (think he had 10 straight before he kicked a point) Brett Stevens good in the ruck, and Paul "Richo" Hayford good around the ground as well.

This game was also notable for the return to the playing field of player/coach Al Limpus! Only made a cameo appearance in the last quarter, tho im told he managed to sneak himself in to the best players...
