Hey Asert,is it true that young Cookey has gone to Cove ? If it is thats disappointing as he has played his whole footy career at Flaggies.Good player who runs hard but not sure where he would fit into Coves A grade side,Vick,Schneyder,Miller and a few others would all be ahead of him i would off thought.

Apparently its true Tatts, Cookey was always more of a running half back than a midfielder or forward, so comparing him to vick, schneyder or miller is unimportant. But will be interesting to see if he gets a start in that side.

Fair point Reppoh, but if you look at Coves back 6 they were pretty settled and worked well together.I maybe wrong but Heater was their only genuine small back there i think so i would imagine that Cookey may have to adjust to another running position.Flaggies seem like they really going well from what a couple of the boys said and with a few good recruits im just surprised that Cookey has left when this maybe one of their best seasons.

Wasnt he all set to go with clg last year and when that all fell through ended up back at flaggies? from what i heard he will consider himself an excellent pick up

Well actually yes, I think you will find 4 of the A Grade premiership team are origionally from the bushpigs juniors and or seniors. K. Ursino, D.Taylor, A.Platten and M.Size.

Not to mention their hard working president who guided the club into a southern force over the last couple of years is ex flaggy.

The players mentioned only 1 has played at flaggies in the past 8-10 years. The other only played about 5 mins in the GF and contributed maybe a possession! The presedent has been at cove over 10 years! They all seem to be cove people to me!

There would be a couple of flaggies players that would play in the cove a grade. Unless cove have lost a few players i think cooke could well play a fair time in the b grade.

Honestly I don't think there is. A few have potential in the future but at the moment they would not be in the Cobras best 21.

Does it matter how many minutes or possesions he got? He's still got an A Grade medal around his neck for 2008, only 20 other players can say that...

And on your comment ' They all seem to be cove people to me! ', They might be now, but if they played all their juniors at Flaggies, then they were Flaggy people then, so although they are tightly aligned to Cove now, Flaggies can still obviously claim them.

How about we look at it like this then:

Would anyone currently signed at Flaggies WANT to make the best 21 at Cove?

I guess they were the clever ones seen they now have premiership medals which they would not have gotten at flaggies! Atleast i can get up on my high horse.

Maybe at the next flaggies day they can invite them all and advertise being able to meet the 2008 flaggies premiership players that won it elsewhere!

its just ignorant to say noone could play a grade at cove. no offence but cove arent team of the century a good team but any good team can improve. id say hackham would at least have 1 player who could do pre season out there and crack it.

be a pretty hollow victory for him. is he proud of it or does he leave out that he didnt earn it. it wouldnt mean much to me id rather lose a gf and contribute than have a medal around my neck that i didnt help win

Worst post ever.

Even Mail Medal winners have gone missing in GF's but ask them what's most important in the GF and team victory is all that matters.

so you would rather sit on the pine the entire grand final zc and hang that medal proudly. you know its not the same as a mail medallist going missing cos he is the main reason they are there in the first place. i had a bad game in the gf a few years back but im still prouder than being insignifigant
