Bit of self-promotion here but oh well. :) Thanks heaps Dogwatcher for the article; I really appreciate it. And yeah - if anyone's got a yarn to tell, send it away. Cheers.

Haha! Milo is quite the inspiration in the wrongest of ways!
can we read the short story which got published?
good work fisho

hahaha I pissed myself! It wasn't the most ideal time, either - I was timekeeper that day and my Reynella counterpart was rather less than impressed. Then my two-year-old son chose to imitate Dave Evans from below and piped up, 'Get off the ground, you're a f***ing disgrace!' and then proceeded to glue his chewed-up lolly snake to the Reynella timekeeper's jacket.

Sure you can read it, but it was published in a book and to get hold of it I imagine you have to buy it, so give us an email address and I'll send you the story. :)

it is funny as when Milo spits it, loves to perform!! :D

What a disgrace and a joke this league has become Brighton who field more teams than any other club have the Seniors at home on Saturday and no junior games programmed at all.

They pay affilaition fees for all teams. The money for this is raised by BBQ/Canteen etc, yet they get shafted for the second time this season by the SFL with no juniors at home.
Brighton Seniors play Edwardstown who have 18's yet their 18's are playing Falgstaff Hill at Flagstaff Hill, while Brighton 18s have the BYE

16's at F/Hill

14's have a bye.

Byes on home games should not be allowed to happen.

On Cove we seem to be developing our youngsters pretty well, the atmosphere around the club is fantastic everybody just wants to get some good games under the belt.

TYSON BROWN

Great to see Cove youngster 17 yr old Tyson Brown crack the South Adelaide seniors on the weekend, by all accounts did pretty well in his first hit out at Senior SANFL level.

Great lad is Tyson still visits at Cove several times a week. Hopefully a great future in the game.

Bit of egg on a couple of faces who did not rate him in their best 21 of the 18's last year, Suppose might be one of the reasons they are not coaching anymore.

Taken under the wing of Ralph Platten in the reserves and burned in the Cove senior teams.

here here - love the way he just had a real crack at it - while he's got plenty of development to come, reckon he plays the way the South coach likes.

If Brighton had all grades this week there would probably be no Juniors at Flaggy. You can't please everyone.

Haha I was wondering the same thing! Reckon C Longhurst of Noarlunga Downs has picked up a couple of Home Hardware packages this year...

Fisho's tips for the week (along with complimentary random spiel):

Brighton v Edwardstown - The mighty toilet brush shall bounce back with its usual flair. If I were Townies' coach I'd be saying 'body up' - but will they or won't they? Bombers by 8 goals.
Cove v Valley - At this stage I'd be rating the Vikings highly for the flag (from my position as perennial finals sideline enthusiast, anyway :-" ) but I also think Cove have improved since they parted ways with Stringer. Valley in a tight one, 25 points.
Flaggies v Twisties - Bushpigs too classy by half. Good to see them fulfilling their potential at long last. They always seem to have really good kids that somehow disappear by the time they get to A grade but they're looking the goods this year. 20 goals.
Hackham v Christies - Hawks have improved but sadly not enough to pull off the win. Tell you what - Wisey looks like he's got at least ten years left in him, I don't know if they've put something in the water down there but jeez - Christies by 10 goals
Marion v Aldinga - Marion may have a completely new side if recent claims are to be believed, but I've still got faith in the Sharky boys. Having one win against the Rams under our belt already will be a big boost. I think a lot of our games are influenced by how confident we are on the day. (I still think we were capable of knocking off Lonsdale.) Aldinga by 15 goals
Morphett Vale v Noarlunga - The Shoes' balloon shall continue to deflate. Emus by 5 goals
Porties v Reynella - I actually rate Porties highly against Reynella; I think they'll give them a real run for their money, but Reynella will prevail in the end. 8 points.

Brighton v Edwardstown - Brighton too good in the battle of the flat. 52 points
Cove v Valley - Cove at windy hill. Looked the goods last week. 17 points.
Flaggies v Twisties - Much tougher than some think, big Seb usually gives us some headaches. Some changes to the team which went down last week, but Flaggies at home. 29 points.
Hackham v Christies - The beach by 72 points at Doctors road. I hear an old 'Kindy' mate of mine could be re-suiting for Christies in the B grade too!
Marion v Aldinga - Sharks by 56 points. If the sharks could beat OSB they should have done it the other week Fisho!
Morphett Vale v Noarlunga - Shoes to bounce back after the break. Not sure of the last time the Shoes won at Wheatsheaf? Give em the nod in a tight one- 11 points.
Porties v Reynella - Hopefully the wind and storms stay away this year. The only tornado I can see hitting Porties this week is the Fly express. Wineys by 66 points.

Congratulations to Michael "Zues or Zedz" Zaluski on his 200th game this weekend, the vast majority of which have been A Grade games!

A true champion of the people, always happy to muck in and help out on and off the field.

Who would have thought that a scrawny awkward kid from Morphett Vale would have pranced his way through 200 games, playing in numerous Premierships along the way, after watching Ashley Burt kick 10 goals on him in a quarter on debut!?

Congrats Micker! Let's make it a day to remember, and a night to not. :ymapplause: :drinkers:

Morphett Vale v Noarlunga - Could go either way. But i'll go Morphett vale by a couple goal at home.
Porties v Reynella - Haven't seen porties, But I'll say Reynella 10-15 goal

Well said zelezny, you beat me too the punch......

Speaking of punches, Zaluski (or Bruno as he likes to be known)must also be celebrating his 2000th punch. the bloke averages at least 10 spoils a game. A great player and great bloke known throughout the emus and SFL. Known as much for his dour defense as his awkward kicking style, he is rarely beaten and never takes a backward step when theres a hard ball to be won.

200 games is a massive effort well done BRUNO!!!!

BRIGHTON V EDWARDSTOWN : brighton easy
COVE V VALLEY : test for cove hearing they improved. is there any venom?[ ok ill pick em]
FLAGGIES V TWISTIES : flaggies just
HACKHAM V CHRISTIES : saints bye plenty
MARION V ALDINGA : sharks give em a win to keep them happy.
M/VALE V NOARLUNGA : emus bye 10 if they play there best. dont write them off come finals.
PORTIES V REYNELLA : wine flys wont drop this one.

S.F.L. Tell Edwardstown to bring their juniors into our league otherwise your club is not required in the S. F. L. Dont hold me to it but i understand part of the agreement was that they would bring their juniors within 2 yrs of their seniors joining.??????????? Anyone heard that Kangarilla would come back with Meadows if there were 2 divisions.
