Righto!
Time for a good old Moeman rant.
A little while back, I defended my club on this forum when someone questioned our club culture.
I take it back.
Our club culture is in real strife.
On the eve of Morphy Parks biggest game of the year, I have resorted to the forum in the hope that one, or some of our players might read it and take some of it in.
I would say it to them personally, except I would have to be bloody fast in catching them in one of the 30 seconds they spend in the clubrooms.
TO ALL SENIOR PLAYERS
It is time to give something back!
People, GOOD people, are hurting at your self centred, egotistical lack of respect for the supporters, sponsors & jumper you are all getting paid to represent.
The volunteers who give up hundreds of hours, and dollars, of their own deserve more than spending a thursday night devoid of any senior player at 8pm, PAID or not.
You have ripped the hearts out of some of my best mates, who have more passion for MPFC in their hair folacle than most of you.
Your lack of commitment disgusts me.

Can only agree with you Moe (and that hurts!). As a sponsor I hear things like this and wonder why I should bother if they dont. It is after all the biggest match of their season - it may determine if they play finals or not - good reason to have better things to do. I BET they will all be around then the pay checks are distributed though.

Why? The players actually read this forum, they know who I am at the club, and now I/we might get a reaction from them. They have to know our committee, sponsors & supporters are hurting. They have to stand up today. Not playing finals this year is not good enough. Non attendance at the club is not good enough. It is as simple as that!

Flaggies hit the front against Valleys today in the 3rd quarter but lost by 3-4 goals in the end in a low scoring but good game of footy, ground was pretty heavy in spots.

These SFL rivalries start early, it certainly felt like a final in the U10's this morning.

HV Black came back from an 8 point 3/4 deficit to win by 4 over Reynella Black.
Only a total of 2 pts (both Reynella) kicked in the 2nd quarter followed by a totally scoreless 3rd quarter making it 2.2 to 1.0 Wineflies at the final break.
After Valleys kicked 2 goals to hit the lead, Reynella had a late shot which looked good but touched off the boot.
Final Score* - Happy Valley Black 3.1.19 d Reynella Black 2.3.15
* no official scores kept at U10 level.

That's twice these two have met this year both hard & physical low scoring affairs with HV winning the first by just 7 points. I wonder what it will be like when they can start tackling?

Very good win by the emus...... Just think spot on, imagine if none other than one c.smith was flying out of the goal square (f-f), perhaps a couple more from down south, perhaps could help this incredibly talented young group get back to where they were years gone bye.

Don't worry about what could be Vulcan, the rest of the comp will be worrying what's there right now. Very good group of young footballers showing they have what it takes to beat the best (sorry Brighton, wineys still the ones to beat). Reynella's big names dig nothing today and will want to atone next time around, looking forward to an exciting end to the year, Emus definately top 4, wouldn't want to play them in a double chance final.

Great game, but can anyone seriously justify the lack in quality of field umpiring? Bald bloke was great, but the old grey fella ran his race 8 years ago, he was so far behind the play it wasn't funny, surely the league have a better umpire for the game of the round than him. Poor bloke embarrassed himself.

Funny you say that big V. I believe their phones will be running hot over the coming weeks. By all reports, many of those names you refer to are very keen to return and help these young ones progress to be superstars of their own. A few mths ago, the doubts were surfacing, but right now, there is that buzz around the place again. Not just for the rest of this year, but for the next few as well.

Great photos from great day - awesome atmosphere and a must win victory for the valleys - well done lads
But they have a gigantic challenge ahead with every game against a team in the top 4 for the rest of the minor round
If Dent is worth his coaching fee then it shouldn't be a problem

Before the game our coach Lynton “the Bish” Bishop told us that he used to umpire Bish back when he used to play in the hills… I’d dare say the last team photo the Bish posed in as a player would pre-date colour photography - so you can only imagine how long this bloke has been umpiring for…!!

I agree the umpiring was poor at times, free kicks being pulled out from nowhere. Unfortunately for him alot of the free kicks given to Reynella happened to be right in front of the very vocal emus supporters!! Still a great day of local footy though.
