This is something we take for granted so when you go to the footy grab one as the revenue raised goes to improvements and upkeeping.

Keep up the great work Grae :-bd

totally agree SB. i only just learnt last week there is no "Budget" for GSFL.

i always buy a Boot, even if only so i know the names of the opposition players for heckling/abuse!!

It's a valuable resource for SFL footy followers. Other leagues are envious that the SFL has one and they don't - the WA Amateurs don't even have one and that pisses me off as a goal umpire as I keep forgetting who is where on the ladder in the Bs and As and I have nothing to read at the game relevant to the competition.

Grae knows I am a big fan of his work.

So is it official that a great icon of the Southern Football League the Southern Boot is dead??

Sad day if that is the case Grae has put in countless hours and overcome alot of obstacles to get a copy out every saturday for god knows how many years (jeez i remember selling the boot on saturday's in the 90's as a junior). Always informative and accurate i really hope somebody will step up to fill the void if its true and Grae has indeed decided to hang up his Boot(s).

Yes Grae did the southern stumps as well but sadly that hasn't been around for a while either.
Problem was everybody loved it but not everyone wanted to part with the $2 to get it which was very disappointing.

Late chance that The Boot may yet continue into 2010. A white knight has suddenly appeared and talks are under way to see if it is feasible to keep it going with his help.
Nothing certain by any means at this stage, and the booklet may not have all its regular features, but there is definitely a rough chance at the moment of The Boot staying alive.

Great news BTP we need some sort of 'budget' even if it isnt the 'the boot'.

I take it the Argus coverage will continue as per normal?

The Boot has been saved.
Des Hamilton has come on board, Grea to help.
Good on you guys. Can't wait to get the boot.

First Boot for 2010 will be at grounds this Saturday.
As usual for Round One there will have to be completely blank spaces if sides are not supplied tonight (there is no previous sides to go on as anything could have happened between seasons). Therefore we have our fingers crossed the sides all come in.
Des Hamilton is the main man this year. I'm assisting him in getting it going etc.
