Vikings are the team to beat the Emu's this year!

The old guns are back, both coaching and playing. Their knowledge and experience can only benefit the younger players breaking into the A's.
For the first time in a long time the wineflies looked completely intimidated against the vikings in the trial under lights on sat night.
Dizzy and McKenzie were ruthless with their attack on the pill and the body

Emu's reign is soon to be over................ maybe

Vikings will be a threat especially on Valley Oval but from what i hear they will have the same problem as the last 3 years, no height. Will be a problem up against Short, Beeching, Pittman, Smith, Joras Boys etc. Most those guys are 6'3+

Its the Emu's who will be needing to change there game plan , they have had recent success with the same game plan but i have no doubt it will get picked to pieces this year with current coaches doing there home work . Dont believe the 2 senior coaches there are up to it , Hill & Roberston .
What i dont know about football isnt worth knowing .

Dunno about that. If your going for a 4th straight premiership then generally you wouldnt want to tinker with the game plan too much i would of thought.

I could be wrong but wouldnt Hill be the only current coach in the league who has actually coached an A grade premiership?? What else could you do in your first season to be considered up to it?

I dont think that a change in the game plan would hurt morphett vale one little bit. they have the quality and smarts to coach themselves. any side that can play a bloke on the wing that is over 6 foot and plays like a rover must have many tricks up their sleeves. not too mention big beeching as a ruck rover. Gee life must be hard for Hilly down their.

Yeah i def think its up to the other teams to change their styles to beat morphies rather then the other way round. I hear Valleys have been training 3 nights a week for the past 3 months so in those 50+ trainings sessions they might have come up with a few things (or they might be sick of footy by the time the season starts!!). Also coves new additions might take them another step and see them knock off the emus but i know who my money is with.

So much for that. Reynella dropped of severley after half time. Dont think Morphies got out third gear either. Not sure if thats a good or a bad thing tho.

The Emus looked to be a much stronger and bigger side this year, even with Short missing. Number 5 ( Allen ) who played in defence is one massive unit.

Not quite sure of your theory Hafey that the Emu's need to change their game plan. Realistically there are only the Valley, Brighton, Cove, Reynella that will cahllenge for the flag this year. Each of those teams have new coaches, 3 on the trot is not bad form going in to your crack at a 4th. That number 5 (Allen) appeared more show than go though.

Looks like the replies have shot your theory to death hafey! there is an old saying "if it aint broke........" Dont know where you get your info from but my research tells me its HILL & ROBINSON??? unless they have changed their reserves coach i still think its that big bald.......... my money is with Morphies, Valley will go O.k though. See the EMUS pumped Reynella in both grades! 5 Allen used to play there in the nineties.....i reckon he played in the loosing 97 GF.....shit kick!

I'm wondering what Twiggy and Bomber are going to bring differently to Sterz and Linc, seems both coaching panels could fit in the same glove, although we used to hear every year that Sterz had a great following. Also not too sure how much coaching experience each past player has had, great footballers do not necessarily make great coaches (ask South Adelaide and Cove in a years time i.e. Ando)

Trumour is that:

Sterz and Linc left because they wanted to continue playing but only train once a week - HVFC didnt think that would reflect well. They also were a bit upset i think that they took 3-4 players with them to Myponga.

That doesn't sound right to me, what are you saying..?? That they still wanted to play/coach but train once a week. These guys know what it takes to win premierships and training once a week wouldn't achieve that. Your sending mixed messages Swooper, i wonder how credible your mail is at times..?? Old El Paso Sombrero...!!

Hey Hotdogs, do they call you that because of your trendy haircut... When you are a successful club people want to talk to you, that's not anyone from Morphett Vale's problem, nor has it got anything to do with how "vain" you believe they may be. Have you seen there is an Aldinga one as well..?? Why don't you have a crack at them..?? Or are you just interested at having a go at the best in the league... At the moment...!!

Not too sure what Hotdogs is on about. looks to be a few different footy clubs with their own forums. Think the 'dogs' might have some history with the muse. Might be upset that the MVFC forum gets more views then his late night game show.
