Not happy about BDOS vs Noarlunga, but deserved the win. Christies over Aldinga a comprehensive win, back to the drawing board for Sharks. Lions in trouble for 2012. Ports great win under the new coach and Roos got it done over Towns. Valley over their bunnies. Interesting start to the year, few surprises and some things remain the same, all makes for a good comp for 2012. Bring on Round 2....

Disappointing day for the boys. Few teething issues but enough talent there to work with. Only 4 players out there that played v Christies last year so huge turn around. Christies were good they look very refreshed under new coach and are playing a very fast attacking brand with plenty of run that should surprise a few teams.

Reynella had a crack but just talent and weight of numbers took over in the end. Morphett Vale smashed them in the middle!

intersting first weeks results, looking forward to see how the rest of the weeks pan out.
Reynella were very impressive today, seeing they lost the spine of their side from the last 4-6 years. great to see some of the young guys step up. it will be a tough year for the club, but signs are good that the club wil progress ok after its big loss of players.... !
Nothing new for most of the sides in the comp, clubs continue to go through the same thing each year.
Depth is the key. MV, HV, Porties, Brighton are a good example.
Well done MV way too good today.

Agree with your points there afl flyer....
I wouldn't be dwelling too much on outs from last season, think I could count about 5 gun players missing from mv also, with probably at least 3-4+ to come back which is not including b.bayley who went off before half time.

Good game to watch for a half today - Reynella tried hard around the contests but just didnt defend the ball at ground level in Morphies forward lines all day hence they scored 20 goals, Emus again will be up there and Winies will go OK against the bottom half and might surprise a few- both teams need talls..

Just going quietly about our business. Not expecting to win the premiership just yet but out to gain respect. Different style of game under a great coach. Won't reveal too much, guess you will just have to wait and see but we have done what we have needed too so far.

Not much mention about noarlunga beating brighton.Called in on my way home from work got there at half time close game..Stayed for the rest of the game noticed two things maybe 3..Schniebichler for brighton is soft as.. pulled out of 2 or 3 contests and heard brighton people in the crowd bitchin bout him..Brighton coach out coached in the 3rd quarter had no reply to mittons game plan.Sorry 4 things..Noarlunga have a good midfield and some real young kids who tackle well and run hard. Well composed in the clinches.Golding still the go to too often.(why wouldnt ya.he is massive)triple teamed..Are brighton a force or have they come back to the field.Or are they already startin to look 4 a new coach..mmmm.Are $hoes better than most people think with all there so called outs published on this forum?..Time will tell...?Good to see christies and hackham winning on the weekend.

All looking pretty positive - good atmosphere around the club at the moment. It has been a whiles since all grades were undefeated after 2 rounds so I guess that helps.
Will be interesting this week against Reynella, a club who (except the last 8 years) has always had difficulties against us. Over 100 games between the two clubs including 3 grand finals is a pretty good rivalry, both teams will be very keen to put on a good performance.

Starting to see a good contingent of past players and supporters wander through the gate and this being the first home game for the year we are expecting a good crowd.

Good news. It would be great to see some improvement from those clubs who have struggled lately and obviously the regime change seems to be working so far. Congrats to those at CB for pushing hard for improvement.

Maybe someone from Brighton or Noarlunga could answer this rumour, but I heard none of the Brighton players went into the Noarlunga clubrooms after the loss on Saturday?

Not 100% sure on exact scores but I thought the Flies had won by about 10+ goals the last few years against Christies?

Some great games of footy on the weekend. will be some tired boys this week after the temp was nudging high 20's.
Noarlunga always hard to beat at the shoe, and some names in Brightons A's that suggest there are a few out/missing? Old man Parkin still getting the job done i see, getting 2nd best for the bombers.
Reynellas kids were good, but were just outclassed in the end.
Christies must be excited, not just about the result, but surely this will get a few supporters around and hopefully create a culture that will make them competetive week in, week out.
Big Trev played a massive part in the twisties getting the chocolates i believe. Look forward to seeing him play, our comp can only benefit from quality players like him being involved.
Porties, cove, HV and flaggies all showed they will be right in the mix all year. Any one of those sides could beat anyone on their day.
Great result for the Hawks, but seriously, whats going on at Lonsdale? Surely there must be a question mark over the coach, whose resume is getting worse every day. Left Marion in total disarray and now the Lions are at rock bottom.

Like I mentioned above, there have been some big wins to Reynella in recent years, last year Reynella beat us by 5 goals.

Maybe Shoeboy offered Sammy a free drink after the game? I'm sure Sam will get the Brighton boys to lift when it counts like they did last year although he may have to change his game plan next time against the Shoes as I believe he may have miss placed some important documents that has landed in the wrong hands.
