Just hope Trev doesnt drop it down Kellock or Mcgregors lap accidently. I'm sure they'll be calling for it.

Looks like dry weather so could be a battle of the forwards.

Expect Southern to win this one. Although I won't be surprised if the GSFL get up... Really could go either way.

On the contrary Numbers!

Some of us like watching a game with the best players available in the comp taking on the best from a rival comp.

These are the games all juniors should aspire to, as its a great learning experience, and they get to mix with others of similar ability.
Strike up friendships and develop respect for opposition opponents.

Should be a cracker.

Barbarians by a point ;)

Ponder the question. Was the difference in the end that one league plays competitive football every week and the other only every 3 to 4 weeks??

Good point Vics

Gsfl kicked plenty in junk time, it was pretty close up till the last.

Lots of hard running midfielders, and very well coached.

Well done GSFL much deserved win.

Should have said generally close footy in gsfl. I think 3 of the bottom 5 from last year including 1 that won only 1 game are this year in the 5. The theory is right just look at your forwards. That smith bloke that kicked 22 didn't get a kick today and sfl leading goal kicker kicked 0. Was really worried about the gsfl today. No ewer, hodge, Ryan, Wilson, welsh, Iljescen, Corbett but still manage a huge win.

Don't get too carried away with an association game meaning you are a better league or more competitive league. It's almost irrelevant in proving that.
A good stat I like though is, look at club of origin in each assoc. team. In the SFL they only have 1 who originates from the GSFL (pistilli) where as GSFL have prob a dozen or more who were recruited from the SFL.

And Vick. But seriously who would leave the gsfl to go to the sfl. It's rare because it's a waste of time

well done peanut!

A grade

GSFL 4 – 2 10 – 9 15 – 15 25 – 20 170
SFL 5 – 0 7 – 1 12 – 2 14 – 5 89

Best GSFL - T Derham, T Carroll, S Munn, J Kellock, S Baulderstone, J Parsons.
SFL - J Vick, T Cranston, J Rewoldt, T Harman, S Comer.

Goals GSFL – J Parsons 7, J Standfield 4, J Kellock 3, S Munn 2, T Johnson 2, T Pinyon 2, L McGregor, A Braendler, T Davis-Neale, T Carroll, S Baulderstone 1
SFL – G Phillips, T Harman, S Smith ea 3, S Pistilli, J Peach ea 2, J Vick 1.

And which leading goal kicker are you talking about? this years? because that is Smith, and if you were referring to last's year leading goal scorer.. he didnt even play!

Yep. Sometimes its best to be thought a fool rather than open your mouth and confirm it.
Smith was a focal target all day and played ok. Certainly wasnt the worst.
SFL's kpp backs got touched up all day. Along with the centreline players.

Interesting. No Edwardstown players. Does the coach not rate them or did they not want to get another whalloping under him?
