Rigney injured about ten minutes from final siren time. Bombers six points down at the time.
Cove's win was set up by a magnificent second quarter. Cobras also without Josh Vick, so I'd say the answer to your question is "no".

Agreed. Another example of p32 having no idea

If anyone from Morphy Park is reading this, would you be able to give Mr McSpaz a call re the funeral and also if there's any memorial event organised? Cammo has his contact details. Thanks.

Not enough has been said about christies upset win over the shoes! Biggest upset in the last 5-6 years, overtaking morphy park beating reynella 3 years ago. No one would have even entertained the thought that they could win. Whats the story bout the game itself? injuries? weather? Players out?

The current top 11 on the ladder

1 HAPPY VALLEY 70.32% 17pts
2 NOARLUNGA 63.01% 16pts
3 PORT NOARLUNGA 62.13% 16pts
4 BRIGHTON BOMBERS 68.15% 14pts
5 MORPHETTVILLE PARK 60.53% 14pts
6 FLAGSTAFF HILL 67.74% 12pts
7 COVE 60.51% 12pts
8 EDWARDSTOWN 58.80% 12pts
9 REYNELLA 54.82% 11pts
10 MORPHETT VALE 52.64% 10pts
11 CHRISTIES BEACH 44.23% 9pts

I think the current top 5 have done enough so far or have an easier draw coming up where they will all definitly make the top 8.
So in reality there are 3 spots in the 8 up for grabs and 6 teams fighting for them.
Who will make it? and who wont? Thoughts?
Flaggy, Morph Vale and Reynella have the toughest draws on paper to complete.
Christies have an easy draw but a poor percentage and would prob need another big upset or 2 to make it.
10 wins (20pts) used to guarentee you a spot in the 8, I think this season 9 wins (18pts) may actually get you in with such random results and a closer comp.
Either way it should be an amazing finals series, one in which there would be no real out and out favourites for any of the games. Should be great watching.

It is a very big loss for our club and leaves a massive hole with all the volunteering work Billy does around the place. He is going to be sadly missed. Was a massive shock to me to hear the news. The last time I saw him he was in fine spirits.

For those wanting to get along to his funeral it is on Friday 6th July in the Heysen Chapel at Centennial Park at 9:30am. Following this we will be heading back to the Pastie for bevvies and diet cokes.

Cheers to all those on the forum for there support.

Thought I would fill you in on the details Fisho.
Funeral 9.30am Friday morning at Centennial Park, Heysen Chapel. Although I dont think it will be big enough for the amount of people expected.
We are having a memorial type thing at the club tonight, but I am sure there will be something more substantial planned in the future which I will let you know about.

I see that in a post a while back you mentioned that I might remember Mr Mcspaz, but having racked my brain I dont recall meeting anyone from Aldinga in my past.
Do you have me confused with someone else, or am I just plain rude.

Regards Moe.

Haven't really studied those around the mighty Emu's but our win on the weekend was crucial for us to get into the top 8 this year, with our next few games against Lonsdale, Hackham, Christies (now danger game) and Marion should give us hopefully 4 more wins. Then the run home includes Bombers, Valley, falcons and Wineys, to guarantee really need to win atleast 2 of those, so will be an exciting run into the finals and then when finals get underway will be the most interesting finals series for a long time. Those that have lowered our colours - Valley (smashed us), Brighton (competitive), Cove (competitive), Parks (poor start came home strong, depleted during game), $hoe$ (competitive) coupled with some long and short term injuries to start coming back over the next month very much looking forward to the finals, bit of work to do yet but with a bit of luck and on our day we will be up and at it again!

Don't want to offend you too much Snaparazzi but I saw the second half of the Brighton game and didn't think you were very competitive at all against them.
Would be good for the competition to have you blokes up and firing along with the Wineys, would be sad not to have those two clubs representing in the finals.
But it is good to see other clubs are stepping up in Happy Valley, MP's and even to a point Christies and Cove.

Haha you're not rude - I'm not sure who you are but I just figured we'd met at some point - I played at Morphies for a couple of years and we've kept acquainted with the club ever since. :) Good bunch of people.

CHRISTIES BEACH vs HACKHAM Christies by 80 points
COVE vs MORPHETTVILLE PARK Morphies by 30 to pay tribute to Billy Chester
MARION vs FLAGSTAFF HILL Falcons by 150
MORPHETT VALE vs OSB/LONSDALE MV by 200 points
NOARLUNGA vs EDWARDSTOWN Noarlunga by 6 points
PORT NOARLUNGA vs BRIGHTON BOMBERS Brighton by 10 points
REYNELLA vs HAPPY VALLEY Happy Valley by 40 points

Some good games this week. Porties vs Brighton should be a good one, but reckon match of the round will be Noarlunga and Townies. Townies have kept a lot of teams to low scores and if they play their best, could be a really close one. Cheers all enjoy your footy weekends.

CHRISTIES BEACH vs HACKHAM --- Christies by 50 points-- Hawks will do far better than first game of season but Saints will still win easily
COVE vs MORPHETTVILLE PARK --- Cove by two points
MARION vs FLAGSTAFF HILL -- Falcons by 100
MORPHETT VALE vs OSB/LONSDALE --- MV by 200
NOARLUNGA vs EDWARDSTOWN --- Noarlunga by 20 points
PORT NOARLUNGA vs BRIGHTON BOMBERS --- Brighton by 10 points
REYNELLA vs HAPPY VALLEY --- Happy Valley by 40 points

Reckon the game of the day will be at the Cove. The side that has just knocked over the Bombers on the ground where they did it, will be up against a big improver that is boosted by a Magarey Medallist and playing for Billy. Going to be absolutely huge

Is Backwell actually playing this week? If so, helps my tip further. Cove have been a bit inconsistent, but certainly seem to be coming good at the right time.
