Heard the same yesterday. if true thats great news for the shoes.
I heard Reynella and Hackham have already been sniffing around for a new head and David Evans is apparently attempting to throw his hat back in the SFL circles???

Was at Reynella Porties game yesterday, good win by Porties however an extremely gutsy effort by Reynella with all the players they had out and the youthful look of the team!! If you took out 2 or 3 of the senior players in that team out from yesterday they looked like an under 18's team!!
Have a bright future their if they can keep the young boys together!

Didn't play and from what I hear Noarlunga are in a spot of bother with quite a large injury list starting to mount up at the wrong end of the season.

I guess the question now is Valley by how far?

Looking more and more likely Valley v Brighton on that last day for the year.

The flag favourites not sitting well at Happy Valley - we are well aware that we have been pretty lucky with a very short injury list and that can change pretty quickly as it has apparently done at Noarlunga

It is also worth remembering we beat Brighton by a single point in a game that could have gone either way and we havent had much success over them in recent years.

I hope if we are to meet Down The Hills mob in a final that it is the last one and it is another cracker game

MF, i love that you are trying to deflect attention from the Valley, but i saw them first hand on saturday and they are a brute of a team. Whilst i respect that Brightons best is very good, i doubt that i have seen a side so complete since our best side 5 or 6 years ago. They have class, size (there are some bloody huge boys in that side), and they are playing with huge confidence. I have been in footy long enough to know anyone can win on any given day (well, almost anyone), but at the moment, Valley deserve to be hot favourites and i believe will bulldoze anyone in their way.

no one answered my previous question, does the top 2 from each club get invited to mail medal night?.. very unprofessional if not IMO. inviting a top 6 is terrible, every one loves an under dog coming from nowhere to win!...

Top 4-6 (depending on distribution of votes) for the 3 senior grades
top 22 for each saturday junior comp (and this is also team of the year for that grade)
Top 4-6 (depending on distribution of votes) for the 2 sunday junior grades

Problem with making the top 22 the team of the year is the number of times the leading goalkicker misses out!

you serious???.. thats terrible, why on earth would you invite the top 4-6 pollers!.. for one, have the juniors on a seperate night which will then free up space meaning you can easily invite the top 2-3 pollers from EACH club. Coaches of each club should also be invited, with a sit down meal. Great Southern is set up like this, and with the association results i feel the SFL needs to take a long look at themselves and become more professional, like a great southern. Im guessing that they would only read out the games the top 4-6 are from???.. if thats the case what a massive dissapointment! ive been apart of a number of mail medal functions, even if you arent in contention its always an exciting night and a privledge to be invited!.. pull ya fingers out southern!

I have heard its poorly run and I know for a fact no other league does it like that. At least 2 A graders should be invited.

In it's defence, it is a good night with a big crowd. Sure it can drag on a bit with all the awards but it does allow all the winners to be acknowledged. Adding the juniors has given a much better atmosphere than the old days of separate events.

Of course, just because you have not been invited does not mean you cannot go.

no inch, they don't only read out the games the leaders are involved in. i havent been to one for a couple years now, but they used to only read out who got the 3 votes from each game.

I see Aldinga forfeited their C grade Sunday? Have they too pulled the pin?

It looks like their first forfeit for the year - i wonder if injuries and losses have taken their toll right through the club..

With the shortage of players they apparently have i wonder if the C grade will continue next year? In the 2 games i have seen they were quite competitive without winning...

It gets no easier with them playing top of the table Cove at Cove this weekend too..

Not sure how you work that out. First time ever had a C grade, had 1 win, 1st forfeit. C player's helping B's, B's stepping up to A's. U18's had a couple of wins lately, U14 and U16 travelling ok with a few wins each, mini's very strong. Well attended function last Sat night which was a nice surprise when you look at our senior teams results, core group of guys bonding well. Lack of volunteers is a real problem though. Tough game this week vs Porties at home.

Probably a bit ambitious fielding a team in every grade this year to be honest.
Well done to our U16's winning by 24 goals on the weekend too ;)
