Well lets include Sunday football aswell and have a look at how many teams each club has playing finals:

8- Brighton & Flagstaff Hill
6- Happy Valley, Cove & Reynella
5- Noarlunga
4- Morphett Vale
3- Port Noarlunga & Morphettville Park

Face it W&D your club is still behind the other 8 clubs in terms of overall club strength and in no way would you be deserving of div1 football.. If you want your divisions to be based solely on senior football how about you join the SAAFL?

We all may as well save our breath. Overheard a man in a maroon jacket with a beard yesterday say that 2 divisions wont be happening while he's in charge!

In the meantime, as an emu supporter i have found a positive in our 2012 campaign. A soft 2013 draw!!

Who said we wanted to be in Div 1? Who said we wanted 2 divisions? No matter what happens there will still be big winning margins be it seniors or juniors(saturday and sunday comps) 1 div or 2. And if it does go to 2 divisions I agree that it shouldn't be judged just on this years top 8, they need to look probably at the last 2-4 years

I believe there will only be one game next year between MV & Reynella, big money day for the home club, which one will miss out next year?

Wish we were as good as you vics01, then again you had 6000 homes built in your area with young families moving in so must be real hard to recruit juniors, try running a club in an aging area see and how hard it is......

When was the last time a previous years grand finalist missed out on the finals the next year. Wonder how the emus would like to be playing in div 2 in 2013 if the league went back to 2 divs with 8 and 7 team comps. I wreckon a few players would be looking for a clearance. In a way it would be good to see what would happen. How it would improve the bottom clubs, would m/vale go backwards even quicker, how the sfl would be improved it would answer a few queries people would have.

As previously stated STUPID POST OF THE YEAR. missing one year in a rigged competition does not mean they should be div 2.

The only way to move to 2 divisions is to have everybody on a equal playing field, then look at the clubs development and performance over a 10 year period.

(where x = whatever period best suits my particular club)

For that matter should be over a 47 year period I reckon :)

What relevance does that have? Every club is in a zone with a SANFL club.

The Southern Football League will never move to two divisions as too many people and clubs will not look at the big picture. As a result of this attitude there will be a natural attrition and clubs will disappear completely. Reality is there are too many clubs feeding out of a small pond, not enough junior or senior players to go around, let alone the money on offer around football leagues.

Wake up before it is too late all clubs need to have a long hard realistic look at themselves and decide what is actually good for the club and football.
To quote Kerry Packer: "I will now take no steps at all to help anyone. It's every man for himself and the devil take the hindmost."

Think about it before it is too late for the league

Not that I know of TBB. I would have thought that the club would have been happy with what Gianni has been able to do with the young guys this year and he would be reappointed. I may be wrong but I would've also thought he would have asked for at least a 2 year deal.
I know they are looking to regain a few guys next season and are chasing Doughty to return to the Flies.
Would definitely help Gianni out next season to have some of those guys in your side.

Good news, I think he's done a great job with what he inherited. Yes
the Flies have been inconsistent, but you expect that when the squad changes so much.
