Anyone heard anything more about the 5 Hills League clubs looking to join the SFL next year?
Heard Blackwood, Lofty, Mt Barker, Ironbank, Uraidla all thinking of coming - anyone confirm?

Why not just merge the SFL and HFL if all of those clubs are going across

The rumblings I had heard was that these clubs would come over and there would be a 20 team competition in 2013 and 2 divs in 2014
Being widely spoken about by men in maroon coats at the C grade grand final but havent heard anything since then
anyone got an update?

I was talking to a maroon coat i know on Saturday. Clubs were approached about two divisions and asked for feedback on ways to run it but MOST clubs didn't want to go to two divs. from the horses mouth

Wasn't most clubs, but there were obviously clubs in the middle of the table who were not wanting to ba a part of it for obvious reasons. There is a Futures Committee set up for this reason, but so far hasn't been much progress from my understanding.

As for the HFL Clubs, I heard this touted strongly from people who should know, but it seems to be going quiet. Maybe just a ploy to get the HFL to listen to their concerns about the current comp? Wouldn't be the first time clubs threatened an exodus if they didn't get what they wanted.

What a load of crock Axle get your head out of your ar$e.
The playing group must have alot of respect for Sam as its shown to get in consecutive GF's with only 2 years at the helm.
You think if theirs a sniff of things not right you piss him off? I say no i'd be giving the ar$e to the white ant thats creating the rumour & its more likely to be someone that hasn't got his own way with selection, remember 32 players don't go into 21.
Theirs always going to be upset players that don't get selected for the Grand Final & theirs happy ones, its important the ones that unfortunately didn't make the cut get around the players selected & show the unity required & encourage your team-mates not sook & hope your team loses.
Clubs will go nowhere if they have dads involved that think their son should be selected in the A grade regardless of their form.
Axle, the club don't need a fresh faced coach to replace the current after only 2 years at the helm & 2 grand finals at that.

20 team comp would be the biggest joke in football history. As if the 15 comp isn't bad enough
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Nm, I think you may have misinterpreted my post. I genuinely had no idea about any goings on at Brighton, but after reading your post, I've now got a pretty good idea. And for the record, I completely agree with you. My post was not necessarily directed at Brighton, but based more on a previous experience at another club. I only used Brighton as an example in response to previous posts I had read regarding rumours about Sam getting the flick. I can only assume you thought I was someone who had a beef with selection. Ps my dads doing fine, thanks for asking!

The Brighton Bombers review all coaching positions (unless someone is already "contracted" for the following year) at the end of each season. Due to our club regularly having most teams going deep into finals it is a bit hard and unfair on coaches to commence this process until the season is fully over.

Sam has done an outstanding job in his 2 years with the club. I have heard rumours that he has received several offers elsewhere so I'm sure our Committee will be speaking with him shortly to discuss next season and beyond.

Not sure Malcolm Blight could have coached Brighton to a victory on Saturday. I would think that Brighton would have no hesitation in reappointing him unless some 'splinter' group has got a hold of the executive with an axe to grind. From what I hear, he has no problems with having the playing group work for him, so could only be other forces at play.
