I understand aldinga and hackham may have stayed the same in the 12 year of this comp but team have tough times and good it is not going to solve anything by having a north south comp bottom teams must work harder to change there position it can be done and in the past 30 years it has eg some of the teams I listed I coach a team that is on the bottom I don't want two comps we must improve and become better for me two divs is a copout

Sorry mate - not a joke
When was last time any club in bottom 8 made top 6 or even played in finals

Let them win div 2 premiership and then take on div 1 clubs

What is a joke is the scorelines over last decade

I understand what you are saying but will happy valley be happy play north based sides because that is the proposal north south not div 1 div 2 when the only grades that will suffer will be 14 -16-18 m/ville are missing some sides so are Marion so the kids comp which seems to work ok will be turned on its head because of A grade scores there is no wrong or right answer to this just hard work

Agreed. And the North/South thing would remove a number of rivalries and real quality games. Div1 and Div 2 is the only way to get a more competitive league. It may even entice some new blood into into the comp from Hills...

Morphett Vale finished 10th last season, prior to that top four going back at least to 2004 (including 5 premierships)
Edwardstown finished 9th last season, top 4 in 2009
Flagstaff Hill finished 8th last season, top 4 in previous season
Cove finished 9th in 2011, top 6 following season, top 4 previous season, premiers 2008
Morphettville Park finished 8th in 2011, top 4 following season
Noarlunga finished 9th in 2010, Port Noarlunga 10th in 2010, do you want me to keep going?

There was 1 game separating the teams from 7th to 11th last year, some of those teams beat teams in the top 4 during the season.

How many other competitions can you find where there are 11 teams competitive with each other?

We should not destroy 3-4 clubs by sticking them in a lesser comp just so a few can feel more "elite".

We have clubs at the top whinging about having to pay 4-5 games a year that they consider "uncompetitive". Two divisions will be great for them, just because of where they are fortunate enough to be in the current cycle. What about those teams on the edge who will now have to play 12-13 so called "uncompetitive" games rather than just the 4-5, all for the massive crime of winning one or half of a game less than the two teams at 7th and 8th?

There will still be big scores, just some clubs will be the unwilling sacrifices to appease a few clubs.

When there are teams that won less games in a decade than teams have won in a season, there is a problem. Talks of cycles are delusional.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Not arguing that, problem is that there is not enough clubs to fill the second division without sending clubs down there that do not deserve it. Cycles referred to those currently nearer the top at the moment.

Bad luck. If you have a problem with Div 2 then go and win it and move back up. Works perfectly for the amatuers.

You have a few options. Most SFL clubs run an Auskick program to provide a feed in to their mini league teams. In your area directly you have Happy Valley Football Club where it is run on a Friday evening, or the other side of you is Cove Football Club. Happy Valley website is www.hvfc.com.au where you can make a phone enquiry to the secretary or send an e-mail enquiry. I believe it starts just after Easter.

Flagstaff Hill also run an Auskick program. Just a matter of making a choice of which area and club you want to go to.

Do the kids have to have a rope tied around their waist so they don't blow away?

How many clubs would the average country league? 6? They seem to function.

Why is ten clubs the right number of teams? I would rather be in a good divison of 8 teams than a broken league of 15 teams
