DTH wasn't quite the 30 point scoreline I predicted thinking you guys may have improved as was rumoured but then again it wasn't a 30 goal thrashing either so you must be happy

Yesterday was confirmation on how far you have dropped as a club - I actually heard one brighton spectator thankful your 18s were playing Marion instead of us so you could get one win for the day

Maybe instead of focussing on our raffle you could look at spending the large amounts of money you charge for junior fees on getting whistles for your junior boundary umpires so we dont have to lend them one and some paint so we could see a boundary line on the oval

Maybe you could even look at getting some more volunteers so that your junior teams are not reliant on having 1 trainer like they were yesterday that is incapable of running on the field. Or are you still happy to sledge our trainer as a wannabe doctor whilst he is tending to your players on the field

Seen the Hawks play yesterday, early in the last they got within 14 points (I think) of Edwardstown. A ruckman and a couple of seasoned players could see them around the mark come next year.

The game at Christie's was dampened yesterday when the mother of a Reynella player being reduced to tears after being racially abused on the sided lines. I hope the Christie's Fc have a few words to the supporters on the hill and let them know that this sort of behavior is not on.

Thanks for the advice MF. Very petty trying to find faults with such minor things. We too have often had to loan items and SFL forms to teams when something has gone missing or been forgotten. And we deliberately go light on with trainers when we play your mob because we know how keen the HV medical staff are to get amongst the action. And get off the grass with fees. I have had a look at some other clubs fees and several are not much lower than us. We have 13 junior teams so that's about 300 families who are OK with what they are paying plus very happy with not having to sell one chocolate or raffle ticket during the season. You keep trying to find faults with other clubs but nothing beats the email your President sent to Mini's parents a couple of weeks back. Dare I remind you of that old saying "people in glasshouses shouldn't throw stones". You guys have made one GF in 9 years yet your supporters are the most arrogant bunch I've come across. MV won 5 flags in 6 years and were far more humble than your crew. And thanks to those same arrogant supporters who brought all their own grog yesterday and drank it in front of our faces. I particularly enjoyed the real classy bloke with the beard sitting right next to the coaches box dribbling shit all day whilst sitting alongside two or thee young children presumably his own. I will give however give kudos to your coach, skipper and several other players who came into our clubrooms for quite some time after the game. Lastly, what a ridiculous comment about how far we have supposedly dropped as a club. We have all teams currently in the 8 and an A & B grade that is close to the youngest in the SFL. You guys had similar seasons not that long ago and were you saying the same to Reynella and MV this time last year. I really hope the Karma Bus is heading down Taylor's Road because anything less than a flag from you guys is going to be considered a failure with the squad that Dent has assembled. I can think of another title for the acronym MF.

So DTH what your saying is Happy Valley have won the same amount of flags as Brighton in the last 9 years.......and i'm sure the Vikings will add another in 6 weeks time. Why don't you just say what you charge your junior subs, which are by far higher than any other club. 13 teams x 24 players x $180 is $56160 per season. I wonder if those 300 families knew how much Rigney, Norsworthy, Phillips and co. were paid last year......money is obviously not spent on the changerooms!

I know for fact that Phillips was not a paid player at Brighton, rigney and Norsworthy would have been getting some amount of chocolates but wouldn't be anywhere near what u imagine it to be hence the reason they have both moved on to probably to get the extra $$$ which definietly aren't at Brighton.

So how about the footy this year, forum has been pretty quiet. Going into the last 2 rounds the final 8 looks to be done, but there will still be a few clubs changing spots. Some big games coming up this week, Shoes V Flies, Roo's V Townies, Cobras V Bombers. Then the last round Flies V Townies, Bombers V shoes, Porties V Cobras and Roo's V Valleys. All games that will shape the 8.
Anyone pick the 8 at the start of the year?

Definitely did not pick the 8. Biggest surprises for me are the rise of Edwardstown, the fall of Flagstaff and the rapid improvement from both Reynella and Morphett Vale.
Could also add in the improvement by Hackham into a competitive unit in the A's particularly. Aldinga's failure to improve is also something I didn't expect. Been a good year so far in terms of surprises and some different teams in contention. finals will be interesting as there is real potential for some serious upsets.

Looks like its going to be a good finals series this year. Any of the top 5 could take it out this year if they get it right on the day. Couldn't say the same about the c grade going on results from the weekend.1st vs 2nd with a 151 point margin to the ladder leaders???

Costings such as player payments (all be it , sum totals ) are revealed @ AGM's , would be interesting to know who the Big Spenders are

Keyser Soze, why do you think a club loses a heap of A grade players who are prepared to do a 300km plus round trip every Saturday the next season. Because they are getting a shitload more coin than what they were getting. And your sums aren't quite right regarding what our junior subs income would be but can I provide a direct quote from the now infamous Raffle-Gate email. "Our fees received don't even cover one-third of our yearly expenses". That smacks of a club who is wooing players and parents with subs that are fixed way below what they should be - but that's OK because we will bleed them dry through other means. Big risk in doing that, as has been proven. Next you will be trying to flog Amway to your members. I just hope your highly paid players aren't on a promise of a Premiership bonus. Could be some red faces on Grand Final night.
