It is what it is.
Maybe these two marquee clubs of the SFL should have their final played at AAMI stadium next week as the curtain raiser to the last AFL game ever played at this venue.
Such is the importance of this rivalry, we should, immediately alter the scheduling of this final, preferably to a ground that offers the following:
Lots of parking. Neutral to both Teams. Good Surface. Good change rooms. Plenty of viewing access. Covered viewing. Interior bar facilities. Quality BBQ access.
Sick of the negative bullshit from some of you twits from up & over the hill.

Still don't like this about the SFL, do what the SAAFL do if you earn the right to a home final then pay a fee to the league to cover their end and then you get to host it. Happy valley play morphy parks this week on neutral ground, why have the Roos earnt this right??? Joke!

They don't currently play finals at the pastie. It is either nuetral grounds or exactly like the SAAFL. Interestingly the current fixtures on the SFL website show Christies Beach in the visitors change rooms at Bice this week.

What I was stating was that happy valley have earnt the right to host a home final as have Reynella. They should be entitled to it. If they paid the SFL a fee to cover costs then it should happen. Performance throughout the year should be rewarded as should the the club as a whole financially.

Definitely not marquee clubs.
Two traditional clubs with a fierce rivalry. That has been going longer than most clubs in
this competition.
The rivalry starts at 8.15 with our juniors.[you read it right 8.15 with juniors.] We play 5 games
and it is a great day of football.
Our juniors grow up to play senior football at our clubs [We don't buy marquee players.]
and that is one of the reasons the rivalry will continue to be strong.
You are right. we should be at a ground that has lots of parking and plenty of viewing access
because there will be a lot of people coming through the gate.[do you know what a gate is.]
We are not being negative. Just saying what we belive is in the best interest for football the s.f.l.
and our clubs.
There are plenty of twits around, some over the hill, some down the hill.
Maybe some of the twits down the hill, should come over the hill, to see what all the fuss is about.
I hope this gives you a better understanding of what we are talking about.

Have I missed something about grades for 2014.

I see Marion have advertised for coaches in age groups 13 - 15 - 17.

Is the SFL changing age groups or is Marion moving leagues????

Well Moe at least you got a few people talking. we have only been around 55 years, I know its not as long as some other clubs but we are a proud club and think we have a bright future as well. May not have 5 games on a Saturday but give it a few years and no one will with the way school/college football is heading. Our oval may not be the right shape but we like to call that boutique , we do have a gate , its just a special one that allows the ambos to get in. Yes we do have some (as you call) marquee players, but don't most clubs. They may not be home grown but they love playing for our club and they could have gone elsewhere for a lot more money.
Maybe the SFL could go back to 10 teams. Aldinga go to the GSFL and Brighton, Marion, Edwardstown and Morphy Parks can join the SAAFL, but I'm sure the SFL would like to grow there league not shrink it. Times have change, football has changed and if we don't change with it we will get left behind. Running a club these days is a lot harder than it was 20 years ago.

Someone's been slow in submitting the fixture. Looking at the ladder, it has to be Cove vs Aldinga at Christies as the ladder shows all teams completing 19 rounds.

I don't think they will go anywhere, has been a bit of talk from what I've been told but that's about all. It might not mean much but they may have worded the coaching add a bit different if they were going.

For once I didn't mind your post MF, even if it was a veiled excuse to inform us that your beloved Vikings made finals in all grades. I'll even go further and remind everyone that you are the only club to have all 5 teams finish top 4 and get a double chance this weekend. Bravo.

In some of the junior grades, making the final 8 is a little token due to the number of teams, so measuring a club that way is bit off the mark. The performance of the Hackham A grade along with their Under 18's has been the biggest plus for the SFL this season. Also kudos to Townies for sticking it up the junior renegade and having a terrific year across the grades they field.

Good points DTH, as I don't think the improvement at Hackham or Edwardstown should go unnoticed. Townies would have had a tough year politically and financially and they improved.
Christies is also another club on the rise. From a personal point of view, great to see our juniors up there and in a good position to do some damage this year.

Always easy to find negatives in our comp, but there have been some great turnarounds and some clubs now headed in the right direction. Now onto what is hopefully a great finals series. Good luck to all those competing.

Why thanks DTH and dont disagree with your acknowledgement of Hackham's A grade but the comparison of years highlights some interesting improvements. Like emus return to form in the A grade - quite a turn around from not making finals last year to top 4 this year. Aldinga's juniors, Edwardstown seniors and Christies improvement in a few grades are also great for the comp

Flaggies and Cove slip in the A grade have been acknowledged but if I hadnt compared the years Noarlunga and Pt Noarlunga's slip wouldnt have been as obvious. All 4 clubs shouldnt be down for long

Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but the Future Directions Committee has put forward a proposal for U15, U17, B & A Grade to be played on Saturdays, with other grades U15 & possibly an U13 played on Sunday. Mini's to stay the same. Clubs have all given their feedback on the proposal, now it is up to the SFL Board to make the final decision. Hopefully for all clubs the decision is made this week, so advertising for Coaches can start.

Saw a document regarding the new grade structure last week along with the replies from the clubs , on the whole I think it it was rather well recieved by most clubs , naturally your not going to keep all clubs happy , with one or two against it totally , Slightly off topic , but has anyone heard anymore about some Hill League teams jumping the fence nxt yr ???
