Ive followed footy a long time now and saw a behind the play incident today that rocked me to the core. Valleys McKenzie king hit an Edwardstown player that was well off the footy. This was completely unprovoked and the bloke he kingod was taken to hospital with a broken jaw and his teeth through his lip. If the SFL don't respond to this responsibly and give this gutless p***k what he deserves then footy in the South is in real trouble. My info is that following conversations between EFC president and the SFL president that EFC are putting in a legitimate complaint to the SFL and don't be surprised if legal action follows. McKenzie deserves a lengthy time away from footy and I certainly hope he gives it away because conduct like that has no place in footy, and if anyone at HFC thinks Im overreacting then shame on you

If true, after the uproar on this site after last weeks game against the twisties you'd expect Valleys posters to call from him to be banned from the club, no?
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

I didn't see the incident but heard it had been referred to police so shouldn't be any posts on here about it

But you did see something last week and felt it was appropriate to slag of a rival club. Convenient?

Very convenient MF. Let me quote some MF words from earlier in the week about the alleged offender.

"Definitely - a legend on the field and a gentleman off the field and one of the greatest captains our club has ever had"

No problems with an Ambulance being called for this one.

Let me be totally transparent. After 30 years of coaching senior footy and currently being involved in the SANFL coaching fraternity, if I had a player do what Mckenzie did today, he wouldn't have a place at my club. Footy today is about playing the ball, not gutless behind play kingo's. Get fair dinkum and fix it now. The townies player will spend weeks getting over this and McKenzie may well play deeper into the finals. You decide what is fair !!!!!!!

All ill say is I hope the townies player is ok and has a speedy recovery and that edwardstown have the report into the SFL. If Byron Murphy gets anything for a yellow card incident Mckenzie should get 12 mths. Don't care what you say Happy Valley, your last 2 weeks of football on and off the field have been a disgrace.

Little Jonny was carted away in an ambulance but still played today and got third best. What happened to the concussion rule or does player welfare not matter in finals. I wonder how this would have played out if Murphy did get reported by the umps. Tribunal sits on the Tuesday after the game, hears that an ambulance was involved, so assumes the victim is going to miss games which influences their verdict and how many games they dish out. With a club report the matter gets heard a week later so I assume Murphy goes up this Tuesday. If the HV evidence that would have been lodged last Monday bangs on about the injury and ambulance requirement yet the player ends up playing the next week and shows no ill effects then the matter should be thrown out or HV should do the honourable thing and withdraw the report. Umpires were on the spot, issued a yellow, end of story. Club reports are designed for cowardly despicable behind the play incidents. If HV weren't aware of that it appears they are going to find out in the next 48 hours.

Let me repeat this has apparently been reported to police so I am not about to comment Didn't see the incident - in the men's room at the wrong time. What I will say is that I too hope the townies lad is ok - no matter who you barrack for no one wants to see a player carted off in an ambulance. All games especially finals should be played with your best players available all day

Is going to be interesting to see how this all plays out at club and SFL level. Word is Dent didn't want club report put in after Jonny incident. He seemed to be "falling over" a lot behind play yesterday

Townies were very strong yesterday and up to halfway through last quarter result could have gone either way - full credit to BP.

As far as Jonny is concerned DTH your attempt to sledge our trainers again has fallen flat - I heard he had to follow Hanks normal procedure probably why I didn't see him at training.

Incident 5 minutes into the first quarter! You must be the asshole Valleys supporter busy telling townies supporters that Hearny deserved it or the idiot HV supporter from a couple of years ago that smacked a Townies player over the head with a stubble as he made his way to his car after the game.

Don't be so gutless referring to police report etc excusing you from commenting. The injured player has more to worry about at the moment than waltzing into a police Station! If you didn't see it, there's little you can say other than maybe agree that if what has been alleged, did in fact occur, the offender should be booted out of football for a hell of a long time.

You have to be kidding about Jonny yesterday falling over a lot behind Play. Are you suggestingTownies targeted him? Mate they couldn't catch him to lay a finger on him.

Townies player in surgery now.....6 hour operation to repair jaw broken in 4 places, 6 teeth displaced. Real bad outcome for the lad and to run salt into the wound he's a contract tutor/lecturor so no income over the next month or more while he can't talk with a wired jaw.....
