Fantastic result.. Seeya later Valley :)

Congratulations on your magnificent personal victory Barry.

Wineflies simply too good, no excuses. We were outplayed by a more committed and desperate team today.
Good luck to Roos and Wineflues in the big one, hope it's a great game. Can only console myself with watching the 14 and 16's next week.

guess so, cos the c grade got spanked by the boys from Brighton rd.

Funny looking at all this talk about HV season being the one that derailed and things never going right after raffle gate
Think an email to sub junior parents had nothing to do with senior squad being hit with some injuries and the A grade and also the B grade being beaten by teams who will likely win the premiership and were better on the day.
If Tonkin, Brown, Alvino, Beagley were available could have been a different result yesterday and losing McNamara at halftime dIdnt help. But that's the nature of footy and all clubs get hit with injuries.
As for how the club will bounce back I presume Dent will be reappointed for next year and the senior guys will be hungry for more success, we have strong juniors and a stack of 18s that look ready for senior footy
Looking forward to watching my son play in a junior GF on Saturday

Apparently the SFL are going to do an AFL and have 2 people organised to present the Premiership Medals depending on who wins. Not sure who will do the Reynella medals but I've heard Vics01 will be doing the Morphy Park medals if they get up.

Will Valley now follow Brighton's lead and flick Dent after not backing up last year's effort?

Could be wrong but I am sure there was an announcement a presso's a few weeks back that he has been reappointed for next year.
Wonder how many blokes who held off retirement hoping to go back to back will announce retirements now

Thanks MF, I'm just trying to lighten the mood on what has been a difficult few weeks for some clubs with some of that still to be played out.

Putting aside the negative, what a great finals series in what has been the most unpredicable SFL season for years. 7 out of 8 A grade finals decided by less than 4 goals and 4 different clubs in the 2 Senior GF's this Saturday and 7 clubs represented across all 5 GF's with no more than 2 teams from any club.

Yes well done to Sacred Heart on making the U/16 Grand Final.

It has been 30 years since Sacred Heart entered a team in our junior competition, back in the old U/13 standalone competition in 1983, and this will be their first SFL Grand Final and first in any comp playing under their Major Sponsors name, Brighton Black.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Brightens the week

Seriously LGIL, I did hear on the weekend from some of the boys that the Saturday coach handed over a number of players at the start of the season as he did not rate them good enough for his side, apparently it came back to bite as they played quiet well.

He must have forgotten the word DEVELOEMENT

Well in that case I'm happy to report that we tipped the BDOS under 14's out of the comp on Saturday, so we both have our victories!!
I know it's not the real thing cos it's only the Saturday competition, but we'll take it. ;)

Too true. Much as we didn't get the result we wanted, i have to say this has been a very positive year for the A Grade competition.
Enjoyed watching all the games yesterday and congrats to the teams who made it thrrough to the last day.

DTH if right is always right the Wineflies will win by plenty, but in the real world we know right is not always right and sometimes the rogues get the chocolates I just hope if they do it is laxettes.

Good luck to Cove Under 18 this week hopefully the boys finally get over the Flaggies curse. Some of the kids have been trying for this day from under 14 when Flaggies first knocked them off in a GF. The competition between to two sides has been fantastic over the last 4 to 5 years, with luck it is the turn of the Cobra young ens to get one back.

The future for both clubs is rosy with all the talent coming through these grades.

Definitely NOT what you want to see in junior grades!
although I can understand your lack of knowledge with this issue, given your clubs absence of junior culture.

I can’t wait to hear the querulous Morphie Park posters and EV who for some reason wants to have a crack every chance he/she gets and yet his/her club is impacted by the point structure as it is.
Fact a number of clubs applied for and were granted extra points in order to build from the bottom up they were Hackham/Aldinga/OSB/Morphie Parks/Marion, and later Christies were given extra points as:

1. They applied
2. They were identified as special needs due to their junior numbers being down and not coming through to senior ranks.

It appears on the surfaced the Hawks/Sharks/OSB/ Marion and Christies have done the right thing as to why clubs were given the points to start with.. Being to re build your club, not have instant success.

HAWKS, have improved played competitive footy this year with a young list and the club willing build over a number of years to achieve long term stabilisation. Working very hard to recruit and maintain juniors for Saturday football.

SHARKS, struggled however they are trying, some promising junior players got a gig this year and junior sharks did ok. Plenty to build on.

LIONS, struggled with numbers, blooded juniors, club trying hard but being sandwiched between some of the larger clubs makes life very difficult. May need to look at another merger to survive the 15 years before the primary school kids are old enough to play senior footy.

SAINTS, Improved out of site, got themselves a good, well respected coach, worked hard on building juniors with some reasonable success.

RAMS, struggled to field juniors, however did manage to get some Saturday sides up.

ROOS, Rorted the system were given points to build, went out to obtain instant success rather than do the hard yards, claim to have tried to build Saturday juniors, yet promoted the juniors as all games on a Sunday before the season started. When that didn't work caused reorganisation for the whole league to accommodate them.

Continued to play an underage lad in the A grade side during the year in order to accommodate the point’s players. Lad got very little game time which has probably not done anything towards developing his footy. Still after finishing in the 8 for the last 3 years 8th /4th /4th still get extra points, even though the SFL can review the points each year it has chosen to let MP retain their extra points.

Point’s consideration was for an even playing field; well it would appear that some have a distorted idea of what an even playing field is.

On wonders how many will stick it out in the city given the farmers have had a record yield of grain this year, more grain than storage space plenty of $$ to travel bush.

OSB have never applied for extra points. Never get close to using what they have so extras aren't going to be much use.

you honestly need help Vics you consistently write absolute dribble on here only to be told by everyone including Cove people that you are not representing them . Best thing that ever happened to that club was you having your little cry and taking your bat and ball. why don't you find something interesting to discuss rather then knocking the only club who has improved rather then drop away like Marion etc . Morphettville parks effort to build an A grade team to make a Grand final is a fantastic effort and NO ONE could possibly disagree. This is good for the club and the entire competition. I know a lot of people from there and know for a fact there are plenty working above and beyond on there junior program . So go find a hobby and stop annoying everyone with rubbish
