I think they should be known as the "All Stars" going by the SFL players they seem to be signing! Or perhaps the "All $tars" is more appropriate.

Interesting all the people on here applauding he SFL 4 months ago on introducing a new team in the SFL are now changing their tune and quite rightly so if they are getting concessions (If that is true). Surely cheaper fees is all the concession you need........ Also how would people feel if more teams came in and these concessions were also given to them (Such as PHOS,Mitcham and so on...) I also over heard some peanut at a pub the other day saying Goodwood were interested. I actually pulled him up and laughed at him, no way in hell would they even contemplate it and if they did no one in the SFL would get within 7 goals of them.

I would pretty uncomfortable about any concessions to Edwardstown as there is a different culture that they would not even know about. Thats financial most SFL clubs may pay a good price for a exceptional recruit but to Edwardstown this is the norm for a great deal of their side and would not blink at recruiting a number of players like this as it is part and parcel of their normal routine. A concession on how many palyers cann come would be ridiculous with the quality of players they already have. We talk about trying to help lower clubs it is step in direction of widening the gap even more.

My point exactly  Also ANYBODY who thinks EFC do not put out decent cash is kidding themselves. ANY suburban side in D1,2 offer big coin. Now there is nothing wrong with that and if clubs can do it and do it well that shows they are a well run organisation BUT..... This is ok where multiple divisions are in place and clubs who do similar acts are placed in the same divisions. However as Observer pointed out is it socially acceptable in an environment where the league prides itself as a "Family" football culture where the kids and parents are there from 8.30-5.30 each Saturday and where there are clubs that struggle to put 5 goals on the board week in/week out. There are many differing opinions and all have merit...........

Heard a story last night that 12 of the Townies under 17's from last year have signed with SHOC so it's not all going their way.

I heard it is 32 points for top 6, and 35 for the rest, Townies included. Assuming 2008 players are 1 point thats 14 points they have left. thats 3 league players they can bring in, or 7 locals.

This is what I have heard also. Townies I think were rated as 7th for the purpose of the draw and points system. Still can't believe how many ins they have. :-?

we played plympton in a trial last year and lost by a couple of goals..

we have allot of ex marion players, some ex cove players, and a few more and they all agree we would beat marion, OSB lonsdale, Hackham, Aldinga, Morh parks, flaggys, we would push teams like nourlunga, christies etc

I think its funny how good you think Colonel Light Gardens are! You choked massively in the finals this year and are still languishing in DIVISION 6!!

Your ex Marion players are handy at best, and I think you'll find they were playing a combination of B's and A's before they left for your club. If they were fringe A graders for a previous club and are now first choice A graders at your club, unless they have improved considerably, wouldnt that suggest their previous club was stronger? Players like Snell, Maddox and Davey played regular B grade, with Ramsay the only first choice A grader.

Obviously you are bias towards your club, like we all are, but dont get on here and suggest a DIVISION 6 club would make the top 8 in the SFL. Out of the teams you mentioned, Id suggest you'd only beat Hackham.

Agree Speccy..
Though a good little player Sid Visser went to Coloniel Light from the Bombers we would like back if he wanted to come (surley the coin is not worth Div 6)

Could beat Flaggies, but only push Noarlunga and Christies? Thats your opinion, but the Falcons did beat both these teams this year...

Snell didnt play for CLG in 08, Maddocks played a mixture of As and Bs, mainly Bs, Davey the same.

IMO we would make the top 8 in the substandard southern league, seriously specky mcgee its pretty much the laughing stock of all other leagues in the state, your boys would get there hopes up one week by beating christies, then get flogged by 30 goals by morphies, to then beat hackham by 40 goals the week later, the sooner they make it two divs the better, because there is always going to be teams who are going to get smashed

Sid Visser very good player and hes the club captain as well!

Yeh sid can play but took the option to chase money in a lower grade which may say he couldn't get $ in the sfl. Div six is not near the top 8 in sfl and yes I have played in both divs. Also I believe sid is'nt playing next year due to work.

I dont think anyone whould have offered him $$ for the SFL as he was still quite young. CLG seen a chance and grabbed it good luck to them.
Pity he is moving on from footy, I suppose work can do that to you.
