Lion Heart I have heard you guys may be a massive chance in both grades this week against Aldinga. I have heard alot of sour grapes down there as Lynch is leaving and has tried to convince a number of people to go with him. Apparently it has resulted in them struggling to fill a B grade this week and A grade depth a worry. Might be your chance to kick them while they are down.

Brings the question, when is it the right time to let the playing group you will not be going on next year? I personally think Steve Hill has done it the right way but some may disagree, Lynch may be causing a bad name for himself if he is only telling a few and not every one? What about Meekins and Bergman I wonder if any more words on them?

Dont think Norm will continue. Sounds like N manhood is the coach in waiting at the cocklies. Think norm would find another job easily if he was interested. I believe his record isnt too bad.

can anyone shed some light on what happened at the end of the shoes twisties B grade match sounds like it go a bit ugly and the umpire was involved. Have heard from a few mates that it was not a great display of umpiring and that may have contributed to the dramas that unfolded at the end.

Girth, you are on the money, the end of the game become heated due to a incident involving a Noarlunga player being felled in the play.(the incident looked like a elbow to the head that feeled the Noarlunga lad who went down and did not move as play went on with the m/park ump near by who called play on) the siren sounded and players became upset and questioned the ump who became vocal and then started to shove the runner and a couple of players who pushed back. This brought players from both sides into a scuffle, which was quickly brought to an end with some calm heads.
In saying that the game was played in good spirits and umpired as well as can be expected when club ump's are out there doing there best and should be appluaded.

I just want to add that the Noarlunga player was not seriously injured and having discussed with both sides the incident was not malicious just clumsy?
Both sides after the game sat down in the change room and discussed the game and had a few beers together. :)

Shoe Boy ya spot on it is great to see club men put thier hand up to umpire the b grade but can get frustrating if one of them looks after their own team too much if they just let it go and pay the obvious ones it would be all good.

Final round should be a ripper. I predict that most of the games will come down to the wire. Anyway, here's my tips for the week:

Christies v Reynella - this is one that won't be a close game. Predict Flies by 16 goals.
Hackham v Porties - Hackham will get killed on the scoreboard but they'll make the Cockledivers work for it.
Morphy Park v Flaggies - a lot riding on this one for the egg 'n' sauce, but I think Flaggies have the edge as a quicker side. But if it's pissing down with rain then anything could happen.
Marion v Noarlunga - Marion can't afford to lose. Noarlunga have been a bit unpredictable this year by knocking off Reynella, but I'm still going with the Rams.
Aldinga v Lonsdale - this will be like Lonsdale's grand final so a tough one for the Sharks. I really think this is anyone's game, but it'd be great to pull off the win and bag the points *cough*. 8)
Cove v Morphett Vale - Angry Emus will run amok on Auskick Oval. Going by overall performance this year, Cove should win this but I just can't see it happening.
Valley v Brighton - Most underrated team of the year. I reckon the Vikings will be a serious premiership contender.
Hey Goose, ya big stud! Take me to bed or lose me for ever.

Well we know your guys would be safe in that league a2m. With all this talk about your coach taking players to another club I don't think he will be winning any awards soon. What a joke, help a struggling club then take the guts out of the club when you leave, and I thought Meekins was a tool.

Anderson = Yet to prove he can coach under finals pressure. Failed at South, most do tho, failed under finals pressure at Gaza and Cove. Obviously doing well at this stage of the year but it is that time of the year
Hill- Took over a premiership team but has maintained the status Quo,This is hard to do its not easy to keep them up. If they win this year exceptional effort
Vikings- What a great effort so far by there coach but lets see when finals come
Francis-Another great effort so far and very well done last year to make it,not sucessful at Phos or Kilburn
Evans-Flag at Sth Clare, R/U Sth Clare,Prelim at Reynella. What will happen this year? Well with all the rubbish he receives on here if they maintain there position of last year or make the G/F another solid performance especially if you believe the rubbish written on here.
You would have to be impressed with the Aldinga coaches effort just to go thru the adversity and finally have a few wins and show consistent improvement thats a big effort

This isn't just a dig at Reynella before you have a go at me.

Do you honestly think the board at Reynella would be happy with where they sit after all the "gun" recruits they picked up in the off season and last years Butcher debacle?

Tony Francis not successful at Kilburn and PHOS ?

Tony was only an assistant at Kilburn to Gary "Buy a Premiership" Peach. He then coached PHOS for one year and lost a Prelim (and promotion to A1) by one goal. He wasn't re-appointed to make way for "favourite son" ironically Peach, and PHOS didn't even make finals in 2007. PHOS's loss has been Brighton's gain.

After mass retirements at end of 2006 we would have been happy with 9 or 10 wins last year and sneak into finals. Tony has been terrific along with Asst Coach Clint Godwin and B grade coach Neil Wuttke.

i never said Reynalla are happy with where they are at this point of the season. The question was asked about coaches and i gave my humble opinion on a few that i have taken notice of, thats all. I also gave Francis praise for his efforts for where Brighton got to and are at at the moment, from memory Francis did coach Kilburn for a year after Peach, I may be wrong

While the clubs, years and who coached when are correct some of the other facts are a bit awry. The reasons for Tony not bgeing reappointed were not necessarily all to do with coaching ability but other factors. Glad to see he is doing well at Brighton it may have been the reality check he needed. Also Kilburn have never needed encouragment to spend money.
