Why not just scrap the whole league and clubs either join the SAAFL or great southern.

Theres alot of issues with that mp. personally the only way I can see that happening is if the SFL folded and I can't see that happening. They do have a serious issue though. 14 teams is way too many for a single division, it is just plain ridiculous.

I hear all is not well in the EMU camp. The players don't listen to the coach anymore they run their own show Senior group control what happens not the coach.

Vic01 what are you doing mate you used to make good points and constructive options.

There has only ever been 1 reported case of the muzzle being applied at MVFC. I will leave it to you guys to figure out who may have been told to keep hush......

Oh well, he's the coach, that's his responsibility. Doesn't hurt my feelings! :)

Sorry, my mistake, he's not the coach any more, is he? Well, I guess the Meadows rumours can finally die down then.

How do you define a "good coach"?

Yeh im with the dutchman on this issue.Someone tell me what is the criteria on being a really good coach in the sfl?
Only my opinion but i rekn that i couldve coached either m/vale,cove ,brighton ,valley or reynella and they still would have been one of the stronger sides in the league.Personally i believe it is sum1 who can get his players too play for him, learn from what he is saying and develop a side into being a good side.I dont no who is the current best coach floating around in the sfl,but the best ive seen (imo) would be arguably the great Trevor Potts.Pottsy not only demanded respect he sure as hell got it!and another who comes to mind is the great Bob Boehm.

No doubt that Potts record stands him as one of the best of all time in Suburban and Country footy. Ian Cox is also worthy of a mention. helped establish Langhorne Creek as a GSFL power. Took SFL to a new level with scouting opposition when he commenced with Bombers. Premiership in 2002 was very much based on massive homework done on opposition players and their strengths and weaknesses. We even knew what brand underwear players from other clubs were wearing. For the record, Marty Clifton preferred G-strings. Coxy then got Flaggies into finals for first time in years and now doing a great job with Glenelg Under 17's.

Potts and Cox have a lot of similarities. Both go right into detail, and both know how to use it.

my opinion on a really good coach, that i have been lucky enough to play for would be barry (baz) pilmore the way he goes about it and the level of standards in every aspect of the game is what players want to put the boots on and achieve,he pulls the boots on and trains with you just to top it off penalties and all !! his record can speak for itself !! would have to be one of the top three in footy outside SANFL !
