My latest mail on Pollard is that he is now likely to play in the Prelim. Originally a real worry, with uncertainty whether it was a full-on knee job, but now seems it was only a minor situation.

Why bring that statistic up then Flyer..?? This topic started about club strength etc etc and you've pipped up with B grade glory, i've been posting on the website for a while now and can say that the topic of B grade footy is non existent...
whats wrong MEX,DTH have you lost to this b grade team many times or something A grade is the holy grail of course but the crap about this is all about the A grade is a load of bollocks !! its about the club from the minis to the A grade any flag is a credit to the club and yes they have not won a flag in 31 years but they will sometime very soon i would say !! blokes play for the mateship and the club mex if a flag comes it comes if not work hard and press to acheive it !! its not like there not trying just some good outfits over the past years they have come up against !! !! And DTH b grade means nothing but to the blokes that play in it your a joke buddy !!
t express, that's 4 to 1 now, myself, numbers, DTH and BTP all agree, your attitude towards winning the reserves astounds me, perhaps a real reason behind failure at the highest grade, sure all premierships are great in any grade, however, your club is judged on 1 only... I've been involved at our club when we have won B grade only, yeah it was good for the club, but the next 4 years have clearly shown it is all about the 1's, next 2 years both grades won and you will never see a bigger party, in 2006 A's won and B's lost, back at the club that night you did not see a sorry face in the place, the B graders were in just as good a mood as the A's cause that's what it is all about...

It was a great day at the Shoe with a great crowd and atmosphere and some close games none better than the B grade two very good sides that could of gone either way.
I cant go without comments re Cove trainer in the A grade who allegedly was struck? This bloke has been around for a while and is an absolute tool!! I have witnessed this bloke man handling kids in games we have played and also from mates from other clubs. He is a trainer keep your hands to yourself and dont get involved in issues that dont involve you. As for the cut to eye I seen a accident that would not of happend if he was not in peoples faces. My view.
Well done to the winners and bad luck loosers at least you get to fight another day :)

I dont know about it been a good crowd shoe boy but i think when you have teams at 2 different venues it makes it difficult. A lot of Brighton people would have been down at Aldinga for the B's and the Morphett Vale fans would have left Noarlunga to go an watch their a grade. It did however build up as the day went on.
You can love football, but it wont always love you back!

Gutsy 9 goal win by a depleted emus outfit on saturday. Hopefully with a week off we will be cherry ripe for the prelim the following week. I know there are pretty much no viking people on here so wont be able to get any feedback but i was pretty shocked to read there best players who were named in the mail.....Squire was named best yet i cant remember Bodey losing a ruck tap the entire day (and he was handy around the ground as well) Mckenzie was third yet his biggest influence would have been in the last 1/4 when he was shifted out of the play to FF so he wouldnt get reported as he started losing it.....

SHOE BOY, I would suggest yopu are well out of line with your comments about the Cove trainer. He was struck and the matter may yet be subject to legal proceedings, so you would well advised to keep zipped with your comments. He was acting as the Southern Football League trainers are required to act. Assist all players not just from your own club. The BDOS player involved must have had a brain fade that day as he connected with another trainer early who was actually treating a player at the time. Just for your information in the Sunday u14 game at Morphettvale yesterday between Cove and Reynella a young Reynell lad went down with leg injury. A stretcher was required and noone present from Reynella was able to set the stretcher up. This particular Cove trainer who was only at the game to watch not officiate was first to assist with this and with treatment until the arrival of an ambulance. No matter what Trainers and similar officials should be Sacrosanct. I must say though the behaviour of some people from both clubs after the incident was disgraceful, especially a couple of office holders from BDOS who should know better. People should enjoy the footy for what it was a GREAT DAY of Competitiion between all teams.

I did hear something about this on Saturday night, was it King that was involved from Brighton..?? Surely it can be discussed on here as being "eyewitnessed", wouldn't mind hearing what happened, if legal proceedings are a possibility Mex, then this site will NOT allow discussion for obvious reasons.....for the record all i heard was that King (allegedly) struck a Cove Trainer, if this is the case season over for Brighton's Captain surely and maybe could be sitting out for sometime, i'm sure the Winefly's would be happy to see him not playing this weekend...

Brighton v Reynella, what a knock out final that should be...!!! I'm sure the Winey's will be pretty pumped to avenge last years prelim loss, coming off a good win and Brighton loss could see the form team of the last 6 weeks go out in straight sets...

Smithy I respect your role but in this case it is over the top. There were 8 officials on the field and none found a case to be heard.just an accident with a trainer who has history for getting involved where he should not.

The alleged incident does not involve Kingy fellas.

On the footy first. Cove too good. Game was set up at 3 quarter time and then Tucker kicks an early goal to make it a 10 point game but Cove steadied and if not for poor kicking at goal could have won by more. Forward line delivery was the difference all day. Ramsay played very well but ball was continually put to where he wanted it. On the trainer incident, no comment other than to fully concur with Shoe Boy on this one. We all know Trainers are a different breed with most wannabe brain surgeons, but the Cove bloke is one out of the box. I have no respect for grown men with pony tails. Sums this bloke up really.

And Vics01. The whole incident was inflamed at the 3/4 time huddle when some drunk Cove tool came over to the Brighton huddle raving on incoherently about someone being struck in the eye. No-one out side of Cove knew anything about the alleged incident until then, so don't start sprouting about the conduct of Brighton officials.

Lastly, the Reynella cherry pickers beat the Bombers in the B grade to go one step closer to another wonderful B grade flag. Any Winefly correspondent willing to make a comment about the incident involving your perrenial thug. If its the guy I'm told it was, he should be given a very long holiday and the club should give him the pink slip.

I'd have to agree with you Swooper, McKenzie was losing it and had to be hidden at FF. I think he is one of the best players in the competition, but I saw quite a few cheapies from Macca on Saturday which the umpires let him get away with. I thought he was better than that!

His well known white line fever seemed to go up another notch on Saturday. Having said that I thought the Emus did a great job on him, although starting him in the forward line was a surprise. Last time Valleys played the Emus he made the play from half back and dominated.

I watched the Wineflies smash Flaggies yesterday, games like that don't help anyone. Does anyone else beleive the SFL should play a final 5 or 6? In the end there is only 5 teams challenging the flag each year. Maybe there could be a division 2 finals series with teams that finish 6th - 10th.

The competition is evening up but there is still a big gap between the top 5 or 6 teams and the rest.
