I'm getting sick of finals being marred by strong winds at some of those grounds. No doubt it will be a factor in the big Brighton vs Reynella game next week.

Couldn't agree more DTH, I never really understood why Porties was used as the SFL's showpiece oval, I hate playing there its always too windy.

When the SFL gets sick of the library style atmosphere of having the GF's at South, have it down at the Shoe!

But if its too windy for ya this this week mate - just wear 2 x turtle neck sweaters... (sorry gotta get at least 1 Brighton sledge in )
The alleged incident does not involve Kingy fellas.

On the footy first. Cove too good. Game was set up at 3 quarter time and then Tucker kicks an early goal to make it a 10 point game but Cove steadied and if not for poor kicking at goal could have won by more. Forward line delivery was the difference all day. Ramsay played very well but ball was continually put to where he wanted it. On the trainer incident, no comment other than to fully concur with Shoe Boy on this one. We all know Trainers are a different breed with most wannabe brain surgeons, but the Cove bloke is one out of the box. I have no respect for grown men with pony tails. Sums this bloke up really.

And Vics01. The whole incident was inflamed at the 3/4 time huddle when some drunk Cove tool came over to the Brighton huddle raving on incoherently about someone being struck in the eye. No-one out side of Cove knew anything about the alleged incident until then, so don't start sprouting about the conduct of Brighton officials.

Lastly, the Reynella cherry pickers beat the Bombers in the B grade to go one step closer to another wonderful B grade flag. Any Winefly correspondent willing to make a comment about the incident involving your perrenial thug. If its the guy I'm told it was, he should be given a very long holiday and the club should give him the pink slip.
Cherry pickers hey get the mothballs out DTH saturday is your a grades last game for 2008

I don't believe Cove have made any reports in relation to the incident involving the trainer, instead it was made by a reserve umpire.... Or a field umpire that wasn't in charge of the genral play.... So no need for lawyers, if SFL are serious the right result will be given and the player reported will wear his ban..If the right result is handed down....
As for the wind Down the Hill it didn't seem a issue what so ever, it played no part in the result of the match... And i hear what your saying in that your getting sick of it, BUT it will never change and thats why we love the great WINTER sport...
Great result for Cove should of probably won by 9 or ten had they kicked straight.... Vick M Reavill were brilliant and if it wasn't for bad kicking at goal Ramsey should of kicked 7 or 8 himself and he too had a great game at CHF...
AS for this weekend i reckon Reynella to go through and meet Morphett Vale Happy Valley to face Cove in the prelims!!!

I agree Clopsy its a good oval, but i think it probably misses out coz its fairly easy to just walk in and the $FL cant slug you 6 clams to get in.

DTH "I'm getting sick of finals being marred by strong winds at some of those grounds. No doubt it will be a factor in the big Brighton vs Reynella game next week."

Are you setting up excuses already?

Footy is a winter game good teams can play in all conditions. Emu's have managed over the last few years to do so and lead the way.

P.S. Light beer?? still beer and still affects behaviour and thought process. Obviously had too much light beer because he wasn't thinking very clearly.

Big Micky popped out to Aldinga to watch Valley v Morphy's on sat was very impressed with the Emu's 2nd half. With injuries decimating the Emu's spine they came out and totally out played Valley's 1 on 1.It was a fantastic show of how to go about winning finals footy no frills in hard get the job done and what really stuck out for me was there commitment to work for each other.Special mention goes to Sampson for controlling the midfield all day & the 2 little whippets around goals.Hope to seeya's in a few Mondays again GO U EMUS!!!

Nice assessment Micky...i gather you mean the Bayly boys when you speak of the two little whippets.
Pound for pound they would have to be amongst the toughest in the league...they just go about their business and are never intimidated...another 5 goal bag to Nathan on Saturday in difficult conditions shows how good these boys are.

No excuses boys, its the same for all sides but you must all agree that excess wind does spoil the contest for players and spectators. The best team will still win but its frustrating that most of the finals grounds are very exposed to the elements. I'm not a big fan of Marion Oval but we've played a few finals there in recent years and wind has never been a factor. It just seems to blow alot more in the South with the onset of Spring. I've seen Junior finals that have been tragic affairs with kicks going backwards at times.

Few of you guys have jumped off the Bombers. After our last loss we bounced back and beat the big 3 in consecutive weeks. Just another challenge to do it again. Hey Fly, quite happy for you to talk it up mate. We'll happily be underdog.

Bice Oval, coldest place on Earth, looking forward to the clash between the Turtle Necks and the Ugg Boots or the Chardonnay and the Vic Bitter. Hopefully a win for good over evil.

Bad luck to the Bombers, looks like Cove are for real this year.
As for the wind if I remember last year was a gale at Christies vs Reynella. Beacsue of that once the ball hit the ground Brighton had superior run.
The Wineflys will be pretty confident this week as they have beaten Brighton twice.

DTH: Can we expect an early guilty plea Tuesday night or will there be an Enid Blighton defence mounted? Remember Your comments going back a couple of months about junior footy, this sort of behaviour does not set a very good example.

I hear a couple of other nasty rumours which I hope are not true about confidential info concerning BDOS on the weekend. Targeting player supposed injuries tut tut, not very sportsman like.
The Emu's are waiting with baited breath on the outcome of some of these allegations, but first I suppose you have to get over the wineflys.

Round 16/17/18 so much home grown hype!!!!

Congrats to porties for giving an up and coming junior the chance and I believe he bagged 2.
To the SHoes well done on a great presentation of your footy club on the weekekend.
Go the Emu 'C' best team by a country mile in the Sunday comp.

Hey petoe,
You havent posted in a while??
Where have your weekley odds gone?? used to enjoy having a look at the lines etc in the SFL.
Have you got any juicy odds on the upcoming finals or premiership winner?
That would put some debate into this forum.

would be a bit of an open market at the moment surely.
