Come on let's not get this inter club fighting going on ... you are starting to act like the player concerned.

I am new to the SFL this season. Now that we are 1/2 way through the season, thought I would make a comment on the competition I have witnessed to date. Those teams playing in the Saturday competition, with only a Saturday side, that get thrashed week in and week out, would be better off playing on Sunday's, to make for a better competition for both players and supporters.
Does anyone else agree with me or have any comments.

We are currently going through the process to upgrade to play senior footy but not sure if they will be ready in time.

We have played some mini games under lights and also a 16 game against Cove recently and although not perfect all players had no issues.

Where you there Asert are you getting second hand info???
I was there and didnt see a kick to the head of any player or players, what I did witness was a club that winged all day from the start of the 14 game to the end of the 16 game with the ump (senior) give numerous 25 mtr penalties for abuse from the side lines of Flagstaff parents and spectators not one against Cove or Noarlunga?

Asert I did witness your player number 1 belt one of our lads right on the jaw behind play for no aparent reason as the lad he hit plays the game in the right spirit. The lads jaw is ok and made comment that it "didnt hurt to much".

So Asert you look after your backyard and we will look after ours as we are comfortable with our discipline record and DO chat and penalise offenders we see fit in our backyard!

i didnt see you down there mate. i did leave during to go support the 6/7s. so would i have incorrect info saying also that the shoe captains were warned at 3qtr time by the umps that any more of this and there will be send offs.the person who was kicked in the head is the most genuine person and player and i was talking to him last night at training. the thing with the umpire is we have had that umpire 3 out of 4 weeks and he just really does not know the rules and cost us dearly last week with 3 goals in front of goal for stuff like someone ran around someone then we tackled them and he drops the ball and gets holding on. if you were there on sunday surely you would have seen it. the kid in green was great and will become a very good umpire. the guy in orange needs a green shirt

Well congratulations to Reynella and Brighton in making the Grand Final in the U16's and also U 14's Happy Valley.
It will be a good game on Saturday afternoon & Night to see these teams fight it out for top spot. Have watch both U16's and think that Reynella may sneek home in a very close game. for the U14's this will go to Brighton a lot stronger team.
hope to see a good turn out at Happy Valley, so come support these kids for the Finals.

Would expect the 16's to be a close one with Brighton getting up by 1 to 10. Should be a really good game.

The u14 will be a blow out. Happy Valley are the Best drilled team of their age group both Saturday and Sunday that I have ever seen. They are a super side who will wipe the floor with Brighton. Both the Valley Sunday and Saturday sides are awsome and coached really well. Maybe Brighton should get some lessons from Godwin the 'A' Assistant coach on how to ply Valley's.

Are you looking for a bite from me Vics01 or are you having a tongue in cheek comment about your "favourite" SFL coaching group.

Results don't matter but moreso the success and growth of the Sunday comp since its inception in 2007. Many clubs had issues with numbers at Under 14 level this year forcing many lads to double up which wasn't ideal and challenged the integrity of the comp at times, but this should be alleviated next year with the move to Under 12's. At least clubs and the SFL took a mature and sensible approach to finals eligibility so its all been fair come finals.

Reynella's Under 16 look very good but they play a full strength Brighton for the first time this year and Reynella may have some lads playing earlier in the day. Happy Valley Under 14 appears to be a legitimate Under 14B team with only a couple of lads who can't play Saturday club footy. They still have some damn good players who would make any other Saturday Under 14 team. Just highlights how good their Saturday team is.

Not sure how you define genuine Sunday team. In our case, most players can't play Saturday club footy except in school holidays. If there wasn't a rival Sunday league that we used to lose half our players to once they finished mini's then we may have kept the status quo of pre-2007. Some SFL clubs have the numbers to field 2 Under 14 or 16 sides on a Saturday but the B team would be uncompetitive in the stronger Saturday comp so for different reasons the Sunday comps have hopefully facilitated everyone who competes. Brighton are hit hardest with college kids coming out of our Mini's but thats because we have 4 large Sacred Heart feeder schools within a couple of km's of Brighton Oval. Our Sunday comps for Under 14 and Under 16 are now comparable in numbers with the Metro South and seemingly more competitive.

Its good to see M/Parks and OSB fielding u/14 sides this year. I can not remember the last time every team in the SFL fielded an u/14's side. Hopefully this continues on to the u/16's and u/18's

Aaah.. Good point Bag the points. As part of their agreement with the SFL, were Townies due to bring their juniors in this year or next? Looking at the metro south website, they are currently fielding an u/16, u/15, u/12, u/11, u/9, and u/8 sides.
