Porties vs Valleys - correct me if im wrong, but i dont think Porties have really challenged any of the top 5 sides this year? But Valley, despite finishing 2nd, are coming off the back of 9 goal drubbings from both the 3rd and 4th placed sides, so they are ripe for the taking. I still lean towards the Vikings tho.

Reynella vs Brighton - cracker game on paper, and looking forward to sneaking in to Bice oval to see it on Saturday. I actually disagree with the Mex on this one and reckon Brighton might get up here (pending the fall out from "ponytail-gate") only going on what ive seen when playing against them this year. Im hoping for a close and hard hitting match...

C Grade GF: Emus vs Porties - go you Emus!

I am sure that your coach is impressed about the possibility of losing a player in such a manner. I know several other club officials I have spoken to have said they would have suspended the player themselves. You have a very well run club but this is a blight on your club. I can only hope you only a supporter and not performing any official role at BDOS, if you are it is indeed a sad day for footy.

On a lighter note, anyone on here remember a controversial incident that involved lawyers around this time last year..?? That to was a very sad few days from memory...!!!

Im sorry Vics01. I reckon I do have some brains but at the moment everyone seems to be taking the word of one person. Did anyone from Cove actually see the trainer get deliberately struck.

Did you see it Vics or are you taking the word of the trainer. The player involved has been an ornament to the league and is innocent until proven guilty.

By all reports he didn't even remonstrate with the umpire who was standing right there or the Brighton trainers who were kneeling with him. Is he that professional that he only took issue once he returned to the dug out, on completion of his duty ?

I joined this forum for some good SFL footy talk but with a bit of p-ss take thrown in. Lighten up Vics. Lets see what comes of tonight before we get too carried away with this being a "blight" on our club.

It is a credit to the players to come from winnin two games last year to winning nine this year.

There is alot of young blokes in there side and i think in the future they are going to finish alot higher then what they did this year. Once they start gettin regular numbers for the b grade and then start to build Juniors, the club is going to be a force in the future.

It might be because not alot of people care.......

From all encounters from what I 've seen the arrogance at an improving club is not appreciated nor does them any favours. But in that yes good work to make it and it would be nice to see another up and coming side start to shake the finals. Just not Morphy Parks

i wouldn't say morphie park supporters are arrogant far from it. Over the last few years we have had to put up with major ass kickings and plenty of crap from the opposition but we have still come out to support our club, it didn't matter if we got flogged by 20 goals we would still go out and support the team. This year we have been more competative and won more games so of course our supporters are going to be even louder. If you call stiring up the other teams and there supporters arrogant well then yes we would be the most arrogant club in the SFL, but thats part of going to the footy, giving your opposition a bit of shit isn't arrogance its a bit of fun as long as you don't go over board. There may be a few clubs out there that still think the Roos are easy beats but there are still better thing to come from Morphie Parks. Already looking forward to next year.

Well done M/Parks I for one have seen a huge improvment in your A grade and there are some quality players there. But as a club you must be concerned with no juniours.( a club with no juniours has no future) what is happening in this area. It is easy to have a narrow vision and just focus on the A grade and throw money at it,this attitude is short lived.
M/Magic how many new recruits this year and at what cost???
Well done to your A and good luck in the future.

I agree with you shoe boy, juniors are the key to a sustainable club.
And I think its pretty easy to jump from bottom of the SFL to mid table. Challenging the top 5 on a regular basis is genuine improvment
I understand that a successful A grade sets the example but if there are no kids there to watch not much will happen.

Ah so is it Tucker and not Kingy who is the alleged villian. Makes more sense really, he was the only name i thought of when someone mentioned that Brighton had a sniper running around in that game. KD or DTH what was the fallout from Tailgate? This trainer sounds like he likes the attention, surely he was there to give evidence?

Word just through on "Tail-Gate". NOT GUILTY. Not saying any more on this issue other than next time any of you are at a Cove game and a player goes down, stand aside for the Pony-Tail Express.

Does anyone know how many people have been suspended this year?

It seems that 90% of the cases go before the tribunal get reprimands or thrown out, I'm not saying they're all guilty but how do they get to the tribunal if they have no case to answer?

In my opinion the SFL would much rather be seen to be doing something than actually doing it.

Great precedent set by the SFL, PLayers are now allowed to go around "interfering" with volunteer trainers.... SFL I cease to wonder

DTH I wonder if the small army that appeared will be as keen to give evidence on oath before a criminal court.

I hope BDOS have a large number of trainers present at every game as I would imagine with the precedent now set by BDOS that any BDOS player that gets injured will have to rely on their own and not others trainers.

Good on the SFL tribunal and the SFL for conducting a full investigation.

I don't know about the rest of you blokes but I've seen alot of footy at all levels and I've rarely seen an opposing Trainer rush out to treat an opposing player without first checking that the players own trainers are on their way to attend the player. If the players own trainers need a bit of help to carry a stretcher or some other help then they can ask for assistance from the other club. This guy makes a massive habit of this and frankly it is not necessary. The truth is that he wants to be seen as some hero, when in fact he is actually demeaning the skills and qualifications of other trainers because his actions are virtually implying that I need to get to this bloke because his own trainers don't know what their doing.
