Joel was one of the best players to play with or against in his younger days, then i didnt see much of him for 4 or 5 years and now i have seen him a couple of times this year and he has become a very dirty player. Not sure if injuries have dragged him down or what the story is, but definately not even close to the player he was.

Absolutely spot on Moley, couldnt agree more.

Has anyone here ever been to the tribunal? What goes on there? Who are they? Are there any serious "you cant handle the truth" type scenes or is it all a "Boston Legal" style farce?

Wonder how the player involved in the trainer assault will sleep this Friday night. Have the eyes of the SFL world on him on the weekend. Talk about being under pressure at the wrong time of the year. Should have been man enough to admit guilt.

Would have been better for him to be suspended now he will play and be a bit scatty everytime he goes near the ball, an extra man for the Wineflys. Some may call what is coming as KARMA for BDOS.

incidently agaist Cove.. to keep up with todays theme.

I can FEEL THE VENOM running through my veins !!!!!

Good call DTH,
Vic01 dont try and find the moral high ground over this accident just because the alleged victim is aligned to your club. I have personally had words with this trainer on numerous occasions in the past and as I have posted previously this bloke is a tool and after speeking with some senior Cove members on Sat they confer. We all have tools in our clubs and I understand your defence but dont turn it into something that is was'nt.

I have been told that fronting before the SFL tribunal is likened to standing before the Jedi counsel....altho the SFL delegates are rumoured to be far older.

Can anyone confirm whether the umpires even turned up for last nights hearing in either case? From what i hear it is not uncommon for the umpire who made the report to not turn up to the hearing thus resulting in most cases ending up with a Not Guilty result. To me getting reported seems like a good way of getting out of Tuesday night training....

Key Defender: SFL tribunal is a only able to hear evidence given to it. There is no risk of punishment if you lie before them. There in lies the problem, not just with the SFL but all minor leagues. The SFL do however have the power to order an investigation into the incident or any incident for that matter and having been to one of these the burden of proof is no where near what is required before ther tribunal. With negative publicity like this the AFL would have fined and suspended everyone just to make sure they appeared to be doing the right thing. As said earlier he was hit if the accused said he didn't do it the Trib. has to accept that but it means one of his other team mates did it., This being the case BDOS as a club should be fined say $1500 - $2000 for not assisting the SFL.

You talk about telling lies to the SFL tribunal. With not one person witnessing what happened on Saturday, how do we know who is telling lies. You are backing the Trainer to the hilt but did you witness anything and has anyone from your club said they saw anything. Are Cove backing the Trainer's word for fear of him walking if not supported by the Club. We all know how hard decent trainers are to come by.

There were players from Cove scattered all around the ground and not one of them remonstrated with the accused. How can this be. Players will normally stick up for a teammate who has been struck but would go troppo if their trainer or waterboy was struck. It was a stoppage in play and alleged contact was made just a metre or so from where Brighton player was lying. Someone either on the ground or in the crowd must have seen something if intentional contact was made.

To others on this forum, they are the facts as I know them. It is not a matter of mistaken identity and that we know who the Brighton player is. I can assure everyone that absolutely no Brighton player or official has any knowledge of any intentional contact with a Trainer. That is the truth.

DTH: Your president must have had memory lapse. The way you are carrying on is a pretty good indication of guilt. I guess the trainer must have hit himself in the eye. Cooboration is all that is needed in criminal investigation and the injury alone is enough for a criminal investigation to be commenced DTH. Damage to eye sockets just don't occur.

This is a strange incident.I was there as a first time observer of the SFL. The alledged incident happened in clear view of the majority of spectators, which included me and it seems that no one saw anything. The umpire was right on the spot as well but acted in a manner that suggested that he did not see anything either. The cove trainer was one of the first on the scene for an injured Brighton. Is it possible that number 9 for Cove accidently clipped his own trainer when the trainer came so close to him from behind. I think he might have just copped an accidental one!

No-one has denied the Trainer received contact to the eye/cheek area during the time he left the bench to attend to the Brighton player and before he returned, but can't you concede that contact could have been accidental. You are starting to become a "blight" on your club Vics.

I was waiting for you to wade in WFOTW.

I call to the stand Shoe boy. You said you were there and witnessed the said incident, that you have had "history" with the Pony Tail Express (PTE), and that he got what he deserved after many years of overstepping the line as a trainer. Id like you to put aside this history, and tell us in your own words what you saw.

Without wanting to lead the witness but this is what i can piece together from 7 pages of posting: a Brighton player went down hurt, the PTE came out to investigate, and alledgedly he was struck and suffered a cut to the eye. Shoe boy in your first post on this you said "As for the cut to eye I seen a accident that would not of happend if he was not in peoples faces" please tell us what was this accident??

I think LF has just clarified the events of last saturday, he is an outsider from the GSFL and attending his first SFL match to watch a good mate of his, Joshy Vick. If you read his post, quoted above, no-one saw the Cove trainer receive a hit to the face and from what the crowd gathered on the day, it must have been accidental from a Cove player.

I have no reason either to stick up for Brighton, i hate them just like most people on this forum and am not a fan of Tucker but with the evidence, or lack off, i think the tribunal has done all they can on this.

Very very unsavoury act on your clubs behalf last year, in fact, worst effort i have ever heard of, DISGRACEFUL... As i am a man of my word this year i snuck in over the back (panalatinga Road) brought my own beers and didn't eat a thing all day, will never spend at cent at your club again...

As we speak we are triple checking our current registered players in anticipation of a Prelim battle against your club, then the obvious "post prelim" battle will begin...
