Did Evans resign or was he sacked?

Was quoted before that he was keen to coach again next year. Would he take one of the vacant jobs in the SFL that at current is vacant??????????????

As I said Dutchy not supported 100% at committee level so jumped off before being nudged is a fair assumption.

As I posted last week, my mail was Evans needed to tidy up his resume as his future was looking shakey.
Looking at the results he didnt have much bargaining power.
Interesting to see who they will get now.

Morphies easy Sat with Matt Jora to come back in the lineup.

Morphies will serve Cove a football lesson on Saturday, as Reynella and brighton have experienced over the last 4 Grand Finals. Can't see this streak ending this year, only hope is if M.vale go in overconfident from last week. Cove need a good start or it will be over early! All other season achievements mean nothing now. I hope I'm wrong, but they are a champion TEAM.

Surely the committee couldn't have succumbed to this kind of ultimatum?

The club has to be bigger than any 1 (or 5) players whose to say the new coach won't receive the same reception?

Would of thought the same but it is reynella we are talking about.Maybe they would be better to keep Evans let them go and start fresh next year. The coach isnt their problem maybe its the culture down there of a few players thinking they a better then what they really are.

It's ok to have an opinion, but it's funny how everyone suddenly are 'Reynella Experts'
Things like this in footy happen all the time and I have it on very good authority that this certainly was not the palyers decision. Footy clubs don't and shouldn't work like that, Reynella are no different. This decision was made by Evans and the commitee. People get carried away with any reynella issue. Fact is Reynella played in 2 x grandfinals, the next year they lost a Prelim, the year after they didnt make the prelim. No one suggests that this was the coach's fault, but things happen and Evans decided to pull the pin. He has done some great things for the club including bring in some very good players. End of story - things will be said on here, but read into it what you like.

What GREAT things did Evans do FLYER?
All I hear on this forum lots of negatives about him.
What players was he responsible for attracting? Robbo and Moore were former players
is my understanding.

I'd heard mixed reviews about Dave Evans before he joined Reynella. He actually applied for the Brighton job during the process that saw us appoint Tony Francis. From an outsider looking in it seems he put alot of time and effort into Reynella and came across as a fairly decent bloke. But did he focus too much on recruiting those elusive players to help win a Premiership rather than backing his coaching ability to work with most of what he had. Did he go a bit easy on the gun players in terms of training and fitness which normally filters through the whole group because its fair to say that Reynella's achilles heel these last 2 seasons has been its ability to run out a full game against the top sides and leg speed.

I'm not sure of Edwardstown coaching situation with Golding but if Edwardstown are coming in to the SFL, I'm sure Evans will be putting his hand up. Based on an earlier rumour, could we see a Golding and Evans swap.
