Congratulations Kooky, 1 more post to 1000!

I think they are matching it with them, not much between the top 5 or 6. Comes down to who is the best on the day, if your the best team on the day a few weeks in a row you become the best team of the year and win the premiership. A well earned Premiership by Cove in 2008, but it will be very hard to back it up, not saying they can't, but there are some good teams to challenge them!

i reckon cove brighton and emu's will battle out for the grand final with valley possibly not far behind.i think porter will do well with them. Reynella could go either way up or down with all the recent off field. Then the rest which are going to keep falling further and further behind. My opinion anyways

What the chances that Marion will improve next? Will exelby make a difference? Has he got any new cattle lined up?

Certainly agree there is not a lot between top handful of teams.
Just another pat on the back for the Cobras from me. They proved themselves best team on the day three times from the three encount\ers with the Emus ---- they certainly proved themselves the right team for the 2008 Flag =D>

Id say that Emus wouldnt pay 1/5 th of what they are getting at Jervios and thats a fact. Depends if these guys want to sacrifice that sort of money i spose, loyalty in footy is rare these days. The reason Morphies have been so strong for last 5 years is the majority of there players are willing to stay for 50 -100 a game rather than chase the big dollars. Its also the main reason clubs with cash like jervios target Emus players.

The guys who have left have missed out on some awesome memories to play in flags with players they grew up with at their home club. They may have premierships elsewhere but its not the same.

Your'e absolutely correct in saying that lion heart, but at the end of the day everyone at M/Vale do understand why these players have left our club.Hopefully one day these blokes do return to the club and im sure there are still plenty of good times left at M/Vale in the near future.

NotOut, Esteban has done pretty well with this post. I think the top 6 teams will be the same again although i believe Flaggies and Noarlunga will close the gap on them. As for picking the top 4, it is very early but would definately have to go with Cove and Vales, then it's anybodies guess from Valleys, Brighton, Porties and Reynella. Footy club success generally goes in cycles and i reckon there will be some pretty disappointed clubs in 5 years time when they need to start to rebuild an A grade side and haven't managed to win a flag during this time, eg Reynella (especially), Brighton, Valleys, Porties. Top 8 for the next 3 years, in no particular order:

Cove
Vales
Porties
Brighton
Reynella
Happy Valley
Flaggies
Noarlunga

It pains me to say it but you would have to imagine Brighton will be coming pretty good in the next 3 years - they won pretty much every flag on offer besides the A grade this year.

I notice no-one has mentioned Edwardstown in their predictions...??

Here's my ladder prediction for next year (end of season, before finals):

Morphett Vale
Cove
Happy Valley
Brighton
Port Noarlunga
Morphettville Park
Reynella
Christies Beach
Aldinga (as much as I'd love the Sharks to make the finals, I'm not sure who's actually going to be playing next year, so I'll wait and see before I change my mind)
Noarlunga
Marion
Flagstaff Hill
Lonsdale
Hackham

Oh, yeah, I'll have to chuck in Edwardstown somewhere, won't I? Will reserve judgment until after the first couple of rounds next year.

Now I'm going to wait for T Express to tell me I know NOTHING about football and to go watch netball instead. :-) Nah, I think next year will be quite interesting and unpredictable, and that finals spots will be up for grabs by a lot of improving teams.

After being filled in on the Twisties' training program and approaches towards next year, I think that they will rocket up the ladder. As for Reynella, I guess only time will tell. It seems like there's still a lot of division and conflict there, which is no good for any club. I might be wrong. Be interesting to see, anyway. :)
