Agreed Specky a super effort! If Matty Martin improves as much as he did this year again next year, he could well find himself on the main list before too long...

Massive blow for us to lose quality player and bloke.Committe at its finest again, I guess they will try to deflect the incompetence away with more lies to players and supporters.

sometimes there is nothing you can do to hold onto players.

Fly if you are implying the committee is involved, atleast explain how? otherwise your Evans identity claims look more believable. Obviously Evans isn't happy with being given his marching orders, it seems you have taken this chance to jump back on the committee again. Surely if you were a player you wouldn't be voicing claims like this??

Flyer I am a Reynella player and have been for a long time.I am not Evans but liked him as a coach. The Reynella comittee is diplorable and does not handle things in a professional manner in regards to any matter concerning football because they lack any form of football intelligence and I along with a few of my teammates have had enough of incompetence and lies.It starts at the top and I do not trust the president who is an incompetent pretender just wanting the title next to his name without doing any decent work for the club. You can think what you like about me but I will still be busting a gut for that illusive A grade flag because I am loyal to the club I have always played for.To be honest I am sick of justifying myself to people like you who claim to support the club but by your own admission have had no involvement since retiring.Reynella footy club needs a complete overhaul but not returning to 1977 logic and methods would have been a good start.
A question for you Flyer Why have we lost abot 15 players in the last 2 years?????????

I'll field this one:

For the same reason you have been going backwards on the field for the last two years, poor committee decisions resulting in poor coaching choices and poor recruiting.

You can't tell me that you got value out of Butcher?

I heard last night that a young lad from my club is trying out for the state U18's and i was thinking if he gets in what sort of rellivence this has to getting looked at by a scout or is it a better pathway to play through SANFL and hope to get a look in?

what do you think of the new coach then Fly? Aren't there a few well respected current past players on the committee? Who would you really like to see involved down there that has moved on and no longer associated with the club? what are you suggestions for improvement...

Buddah, it is actually the best breeding ground for a young lad to get get drafted that doesn't play in the victorian under 18 comp, pretty much every scout goes to the state games.
It could be a great year for him to play state if he makes it, because if the gold coast come there will be more spots up for grabs. I hope this helps you out.

Buddah, the under 18 state squad is definately the way to go. Training for months with the States talent manager and under 18 coach in Brenton Phillips, aswell as the other 39 best under 18's will be good for anyones football. As far as being scouted goes, the under 18 national championships are watched by multiple scouts from every AFL club and then reviewed again on video. Not many players get drafted without playing Under 18 state footy, these kids play SANFL to make this side so they can make the AFL.

Good to see some honesty in your statements.
It is interesting to see that you are looking at retiring at the end of 2009....at this time of the year.
How will you keep your motivation going by half way through 2009?
I do love your Avatar, but didn't you take a substantial pay cut in your move to Reynella

Perhaps you should be Rich man Poor man instead of Richle Rich!!!

My decision is based on my committment to coaching so there is nothing hidden behind my choice. I don't think I need any more motivation personally than to try and win a Premiership before retiring and I think i've gone to the right club to have teammates that are looking at wanting the same thing. Geez if there is a team that wants and needs a premiership more than Reynella, i'd like to know!
As for my Avatar, it's just a tongue in cheek thing considering the flack I copped earlier. Maybe I should have Randolph and Mortimer from Trading Places!!!
